props to them you know? most bands go through phases, but tool has always seemed to be just "tool" and they never change. every cd is as good as the next, same thing with every concert

Look at the artwork in the background, this could not have been in 2002 because they did not have this artwork back then, I think this is from 06 at the shows just before 10,000 Days was released, when at some dates they only played the intro to Wings like they do here, also he has a mohawk which is only something he's had as of the last two years or so.
umm, that background WAS from the Lateralus era...infact it was made before then by Alex Grey in a pianting called Dying (in 1998). It's even in the Parabola video.
So, that part of your claim is completely false. I'm sure the rest of it is aswell.
touche you're right. however wrong I may be about the artwork I still don't know what's up with the mohawk, and yes I should have looked a little further into it before I jumped to conclusions. Also, I didn't mean the artwork did not exist back then. Anyway, no reason to get defensive, I was only offering another possibility, in no way was I calling anyone wrong, so I apologize for jumping to conclusions and offending anyone. We all Love TooL and thats all that matters anyway. Peace be with you.
they didnt play the intro to wings for marie in the 10,000 days tour before they released the full song on their set list... saw them twice during that tour (before W4M and 10KD songs were played live, and then 4 more times when it was..:P)
And maynard used to sport a black line on his head... its body paint...
Yeah, I looked a little closer and noticed that it was not a mohawk but instead a black line running vertically across his face and head. I never paid attention to him when he finally turns around cuz I was paying attention to the "I embrace my..." part cuz it's my favorite part of the song, but I just recently noticed that it was paint and not hair as I had previously (and mistakenly) thought, good eye, I got so used to him playng it low key on this tour that I forgot he even used to do that.
You're kidding me right? I'm pretty sure that was intended with the solo. Instead of doing the usual tremelo with one note, it was improvised to carry a more elaborate solo, and a damn good one. The wah was, as always, intended.
@OpiumCats His guitar sounds a little off the whole way through--the crunch sounds slightly distorted for some reason; still a killer performance though. I wonder if we'll see any snippets from a new album this summer... :D
its not unbelievable rare lol... whenever they used to start dispostion of schism they would always stand next to eachother... and generally after most shows they all come together to give high 5s or aknowledge the crowd...
Sorry, I meant, it's rare to get that kind of energy out of something like that. I've seen them a few times live, I realize they stand next to eachother all the time.
Don't know who recorded it, but it was like this: They started to play wings for marie and right after Maynard sang "you believed in me" he choked up and left the stage, the rest of the guys kept playing and looped the following riff after about a couple of minutes he came back and strougled to continue but sang his heart out, when 10000 days (wings part 2) was over, Adam went to him a gave him a big hug, it so emotional and amazing at the same tima, i will never forget it
lol its not rare to hear adam play the occasional off-note.. sometimes its intentional, but a lot of the time its by accident.. he isnt the worlds greatest guitarist.. and he has openly admitted that, but he uses what ever guitar skills he has to be creative, which is what makes him such an asset to the band..
I was at this show. It's not fake at all.

They played on Nov. 16/02. This was the "Inside the Outside" tour. Wings was probably a work in progress at the time.
