  • Justin Theroux man, look how cool he is here. Now he's Jennifer Aniston's bitch.

  • David's hair grow's while he talks !!! LEGEND !!!

  • Liv Ullman at the end was the best part!

  • hes not talking with his hand!!

  • Amazing movie. Like all of his movies it's abstract film making not meant to be seen logically but just experienceed.

  • at 6:07 when David says this makes me crazy, he sounds just like Heath Ledger's Joker. I seriously think Heath used Lynch as inspiration for voicing the Joker

  • If god would give me one wish it would be:

Me Laura & Namoi doing it while David Films it :O

  • I absolutely love how when he's not talking, he's just staring a hole into the inside of that microphone. Trying to figure out its deepest, darkest secrets, having a mental conversation with it.

  • "ideas sometimes come into the mind, and this makes me crazy. i dont know where they come from, i dont know where they are"

  • harring feels like a cross of rita hayworth and gene tierney...naomi is quite pretty as well.

  • laura harring is simly breath-taking.

  • david is so cool

  • David,ti amo anche se mi piacciono le donne.

  • Laura Harring is so so so hot.

  • But Naomi is beautiful.

  • i wish i knew how to to BS like Lynch and I mean that in the best way possible. I work intuitively and i often have to think about why i made certain decisions just so i can say something when someone asks me to justify it.

  • screw having to justify for your work..

I also work(write) intuitively and I really don't know why I made certain decisions and I refuse to shrink them down to a simple description.

  • you feel sorry for something that you think you know...sad.

  • Rebekah Del Rio took her last name from and old Hollywood star, the mexican Dolores Del Rio. And the song Crying (llorando) Come from and ancient tale of a woman from a small town in méxico who cries every nights in the wood. I'ts named "La llorona"

  • I love the work of David Lych!

  • thank God for David Lynch!!!

  • asperger's syndrome?

  • why would you think this?

  • I meant that david being a stoner was a compliment, he is a genious

  • Lynch is GOD

  • Whew!.. what a flick.. i just watched it.. HATED IT.. read up on online.. now i wanna watch it again.. ha ha.. its like u need a map to "get it"

  • Your not supposed to get it. It doesn't make sense, Its simply beautiful sounds, pictures, and imagery formed to make a dream visible while your awake. It's a dream, it sets apart comes together and then falls apart right before you wake up. This establishes that with such genius. Watch all Lynch's movies like they are dreams and you'll love and appreciate them more.

  • im glad you enjoy his pictures...but they are supposed to make sense too.. and if you play around a little with his narritive stuctures you can find a cohesive plot in mullholand dr.

  • no. it makes perfect sense. you didn't get it.

  • It doesn't make any direct logical sense, no. It makes sense in the same way dream logic operates, and the metaphorical interpretations are indirect so they are individual and meant to be your own. So I'm going to have to disagree.

  • eeh idk about that still. i think it does make sense, because the people and places it depicts in comparison to real life hollywood, are completely over-exagerated. now the end was about, how Camila showed Diane a glimpes of that rich lifestyle (good life). she broke down, then when you hear the glass break, she jerks around and the scene is switched to the diner w/ the hitman (the bad life)

  • hmmm thanks for the interpretation.

  • thats only a very very brief interpretation and may still be hard to understand in small detail. lol

  • The movie does make sense if you have patients to interpret it. Just at the beginning of the film the camera falls into a pillow. This is Naomi Watts real life character (the failed actress/waitress) falling asleep. The entire movie is her exagerated dream of how she expected Hollywood to be. She then wakes up after she goes into that weird boxs and we are shown her actual life at the end. Most of the dream can be interpreted when we see her real life. See what I mean?

  • Buyandsee, that was actually the best interpretation of the film I've ever read. Bravo.

  • @Buyandsee It's not abput a dream, really! Wouldnt that be too easy and also take away completely its magic?

  • @RaketeRoll I don't feel that its to easy, I feel that its the most logical way to percieve the movie after a number of viewings. All the same there is no one clear answer, but most people simply feel the need to have one anyways. I felt the need to share what I feel the movie is about. You don't have to agree with it, but I feel it makes more sense then alot of other explaintations out there

  • david is a stoner!

  • HAHA, good on ya and good luck !!!

    :)

  • naomi watts is too sexy, i need to lick her bum

  • I´m sure you can lick someone elses bum too,

more likely to succeed there, I think Naomi

is sort of out of your league !

    :)

  • whose bum? if i disguised myself as liev schreiber, she'd NEVER know

  • cè qualcuno che può tradurlo? magari anche tramite skype in diretta.

    ciao.

  • The one person missing from the stage is Rebekah Del Rio who sang the spanish version of Roy Orbison's song "Crying" (Llorando) in the Club Silencio scene of the film. Considering that many look to that scene as being their favorite in the film, it's unfortunate that Ms. Del Rio was not featured at this press conference. It would have brought her front and center to the world stage. It's an unfortunate oversight that Rebekah was absent.

  • Naomi Watts Kicks ass!

  • Lynch = Genius

  • I am so glad that he chose Naomi Watts and Laura Harring. They were awesome in the film.

  • ahhhhhh, the magic fingers at work......even with a cigarette....

It is such a wonderful experience just watching him and listening to him.....all makes such a perfect sense...

  • god bless mr.badalamenti

  • He has the greatest hair in the world.

  • my previous post was in response to drareg7777

  • I love David rynch's way of talk.

He talks so clealy in every single word that he can bring his message to non english people like me. U2 bono has that talking. I guess it's common attitude of world wide talented artist.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • Sunset Blvd.

  • he's such a genious.. inland empire was great, too. i wish he never stops making such great films

  • Thank you so much for this video!

  • Would you possibly post the scene of the lady singing the Roy Orbison song at Club Silencio? I'm embarrassed that her name's slipped my mind for the moment, but I thought she was stunning.

  • The lady is the singer Rebekah del Rio, search for:

"Rebekah del Rio Silencio" and you´ll find it here at youtube...

  • I think Mulholland Drive is the best movie I ever saw, at least that is how I feel about it now. I'm slightly obsessed by it. Someone recommend me another movie to watch, based on this obsession, please.

  • Inland Empire

  • Yeah, of course. They never showed inland empire in the shitty little town in which i live. Can't wait for it to be released on dvd.

  • VIDEODROME.

  • Twin Peaks series... Fire Walk With Me... Blue Velvet.... anything David Lynch....

Also, memento and naked lunch... they're not by david lynch but along the same lines

  • Twin Peaks series... Fire Walk With Me... Blue Velvet.... anything David Lynch....

Also, memento and naked lunch... they're not by david lynch but along the same lines

  • twin peaks series, fire walk with me, blue velvet... anything david lynch made

also, memento and naked lunch.... not by lynch but along the same lines

  • lynch is a guru

  • I get what he says about the road and the signpost in the night partially being illuminated by the head lights of a car. That was a beautiful scene in the movie, and i can understand how seeing it in life might give you that spark. "Sound and picture moving together in time is a magical thing."

Am i the only one who got freaked out by Naomi's accent? Just wasn't expecting it.

  • I spoke to a 60-ish american actress

    here in Sweden about Mulholland Drive (the actual road) a couple of weeks ago, it was funny;

She had grown up in Beverly Hills and said "Mulholland

Drive, yeah - that´s the place where you always drove with your guy to make out !" A bit secluded and maybe a bit romantic too. Or just secluded !

    :)

  • Well, it's a great view for sure.

  • what an incredibly humane man, artistic, creative, giving...

  • He´s an idol. When I was 30 I suddenly realized I´d left idolism behind me, then when I turned 40 I realized I still had one, and that´s this guy !

    :)

  • It's amazing he can work and apparently survive in Hollywood land. thanks for your comment.

  • Hollywood hasn´t got much to do with it anymore I think, his last two movies were financed largely by french Studio Canal, owned by Vivendi. They finance lots of great film.

  • great great vid!!! thanks so much! =D

  • wow! thanx. he's so brilliant and yet cool.

  • Go see Inland Empire, that´s a real psychic film...

    and brilliant.
