I find it comical that this was ever an issue. If Cruz would've taken care of business and won a few more rounds than RH instead of putting his fate in someone else's hands he wouldn't have been on the outside. He wouldn't have been much of a factor anyway. If I recall, he wasn't going rounds during the countdown races anyway. He never did get his car issues fixed. Hight, on the other hand, was on fire and deserved the championship

I like JFR and the Pedregon brothers, but what Cruz said was wrong. If you want to compete with the multi car teams you've got to creat your own multi car team and put some good drivers in them. When you have multi car teams you're gonna do what ever it takes to get your team into the countdown. I have family that compete in the oval and figure 8 racing and they have at least two to three cars and they will do whatever it takes to get them in. There is manipulation in any motorsport.

If you don't like the fact that Team Force can use there cars to manipulate the out come of a race. Then those other teams need to build more cars and put drivers in them. The more cars you have the chace of manipulating the out come. An you a btter chace of winning. Winning is what it is all about, at any cost. This isn't the boy scouts. I think Mike Dunn was out of line. Force could have had the clutch set up to just smoke the tires, and that would have been it. So the assertion that Force drove it out of the groove intentionally is slanderous.

I guess ESPN and NHRA feel that have ridden Force's popularity as far as they need to. Now they want to throw him under the bus for some ratings-generating controversy.

This countdown to 1 is a bunch of crap.The reason NHRA feels the need to artificially drum up "excitement" for the so-called "fans" of the sport is one word-money.Racing is not meant to be a countdown or playoff. Every track, every race is different. Kalitta should have and would have won 2 years ago, as would have Wilkerson last year if not for this nonsense. And no more 1/4 mile racing?Screw that, I'm going to more IHRA events. IF IHRA can bring back the FC classes. Bad times for drag racing.

what makes this different from a couple years ago when tony shumacher won the champoinship race and took the title away from kalitta. If you think back tony shumachers team mate at the time melanie troxell let off at half track to let him take the win, why does it matter, it is a smart decision from a team stand point why does it matter what he did. This is why John has 14 champoinships and no else comes close in all funny car at the moment or ever!
