@Ichtudirweh56 no sir you are wrong. fuel was still negotiating with chris even after he was voted off the show. toryn was in the mix at that time but not when chris first sang this song and the fuel people heard chris sing it. chris wanted his own band and not try and meat expecations the fans of fuel had for the original fuel singer and his replacement. that is only one factor as to why chris didn't go with fuel.

man people hatin cuz daughtry isnt an old school hardcore rock band get the fuck outta here thats why theres different genres of rock like alternative which is mostly what daughtry falls under.
It's funny watching this now. It's so much more of a quiet and intimate setting then. Chris is amazing. If you disagree, I'm sure you haven't taken the time to listen to some of his songs. Leave This Town is a STELLAR album.
Not the same songs when it isn't sung by Scallions. Daughtry is great, but he's too smooth for the Fuel stuff in my opinion. Scallions has a sound of despair in his voice, Daughtry is able to hit the notes with too much ease that seems to lessen the emotion of the song.
I agree. He doesn't have the right tone, or gravel in his voice. Don't get me wrong, Daughtry has a great voice for rock, but if you notice, Scallions notes carry out a lot smoother. It could be just nerves on Daughtry's part, but his bravado is just a little too shaken when carrying out the notes, and it doesn't give the song the right tone of despair, as you put it, to really squeeze out the kind of emotion that its suppose to.
At this point I would have spiked the mike and walked off stage as the new American Idol. "do you know how good you are?" He was the best we all know it, 5 years later and all Daughtry's succsses, I am still pissed he got ripped off!!!!!!!!

@Ichtudirweh56 no sir you are wrong. fuel was still negotiating with chris even after he was voted off the show. toryn was in the mix at that time but not when chris first sang this song and the fuel people heard chris sing it. chris wanted his own band and not try and meat expecations the fans of fuel had for the original fuel singer and his replacement. that is only one factor as to why chris didn't go with fuel.

@YoshiFD3S Yeah, I think i gottat agree with you. It was actually a good thing he didn't win as I reckon he would have been controlled too much with what he could or should record. Just look at him now. I reckon he is more successful than any other contestant except perhaps for Jennifer Hudson. I love his stuff. He is in my cd player and on my iPod at the moment.

It's funny watching this now. It's so much more of a quiet and intimate setting then. Chris is amazing. If you disagree, I'm sure you haven't taken the time to listen to some of his songs. Leave This Town is a STELLAR album.

Not the same songs when it isn't sung by Scallions. Daughtry is great, but he's too smooth for the Fuel stuff in my opinion. Scallions has a sound of despair in his voice, Daughtry is able to hit the notes with too much ease that seems to lessen the emotion of the song.

I agree. He doesn't have the right tone, or gravel in his voice. Don't get me wrong, Daughtry has a great voice for rock, but if you notice, Scallions notes carry out a lot smoother. It could be just nerves on Daughtry's part, but his bravado is just a little too shaken when carrying out the notes, and it doesn't give the song the right tone of despair, as you put it, to really squeeze out the kind of emotion that its suppose to.
