  • Found you on Sistermoonshine13's channel. I share this love of the 70's music and I find your song Jimmy Page to be top notch work, keep 'em comin!!

  • Man your stuff just gets better every time I listen to it. It's been great getting to know a bit about you and listening to some of the depths of your masterful musical diversity this year. I'm really looking forward to finding out what you cook up for 2010. Happy new year mate. =)

  • @loopyone73 thanks paul...heaven only knows what i'll get into this year .....i go into every year without ever having a clue...thanks paul for all the kindness and encouragement you given me this year...if it seems like i'm quiet or not around for while,it';s only cause i'll be trying to figure out new songs.

  • It's all good mate, I really need to crack on with a few of my own too. Got a good feeling about next year, it's all coming together slowly but surely. As for the kindness Mary, I just think it's only right to give credit where it's due and when someone has the ability to move me in so many ways I simply have to say so. Even the best of the best need encouragement from time to time. =)

  • Just wonderful. I love being back in place where I NEED to play a tune over and over and over.... Can't leave it alone!

  • I can see why Sis broadcasted this one. Great song, lyrics ,video and notes.

I've been to the 'very pretty little town' of Burton-on-Trent and man, there are unplugged ghosts on every corner. You can only see them if you are filled with the spirit yourself.

    5 Stars*

  • Wow. Nice videography! Nice Song, cool Lyrics. The 'ghost' effect' is awesome and your Les Paul is beautiful! I get the impression a few 'joints' smoked by the window helped influence and inspire this...5/5 Stars!

kisses and stardust in your hair and on your pillows!

  • Love this! Excellent! Thank you for sharing this with me! Favorited and 5*s!

  • diane.....it's me who should be thanking you.....very kind of you to write and let me know you enjoyed it.

  • Yuh I always thought the impeccably tailored houndstooth check and matching y fronts hinted towards the identity of the ghost..., but man, that hair.. moving in the breeze like that! ... mine was all wavy and curly, but it was great when I had some. Ah well, me, me, me!

... Dylan and the Eagles were my thing back then, after Genesis, Floyd, and all. ... even bluegrass and western swing ... Dan Hicks, in the early 70s.. still trying to learn.

  • those eagles records can make the heart soar!!!...i remember living in hollywood and feeling homesick for england...i stood on the rooftop of the hyatt hotel with'take it to the limit' blasting on my sony walkman' and just cried.

  • oh god, don't get me started. Forgot to say 'bout the Les Paul... good to see proper kit! - love it.

  • wah wah waaahhhhhhh !

  • hello again

can i buy this music somewhere

    marc

  • hi marc....just private message me your email and i'll send you an mp3

  • Honours for this video (2)

#38 - Most Discussed (This Week) - Music

#65 - Top Rated (This Week) - Music

    just loving this ..;0)

  • thanks alexandra, but i can't take it too seriously....it was actually in five charts, and at one of them number 5 earlier on today,so these things nose dive as quick as they take off....if it ever had a million hits,my eyebrows would perk up,but in truth its only a small groovy group of very cool music loving people who are watching it,and that's just fine by me.

  • truly great song dear boy...

    ;-}~

  • thanks mikee....it was fun to do

  • Massive! Fair Play Lad! I have the same guitar. Mental colour so it is! Mine is a 1979 as well.

  • thanks ric....i LOVE my les paul..its been with me through two bands and all my solo things.....thirty years....it has a serious t-rex vibe to it now..it's very worn....the switches a getting real dirty and i'm thinking i need to get it to a good guy who will just sort those little things out..but it works real good.....its yours the lovely deep red/ wine colour that was so popular at the time? ...i remember mick ronson had one.

  • WOW!!!! fabulous!!!

I just adore you Mary!!! xXx

  • Ah yes, fond memories. Some of my LP's are almost grey from overplay, and some are permanently scratched at the beginning of a guitar riff from trying to learn the licks. A great song and video tribute to those days, my good friend.

  • hi michael...the scratches on the vlnyl after repeated listenings, almost became a part of the music....loads and loads of love to you

  • When I was growing up music held me captive. Everything I remember can be tagged by what music was playing or what tune was swirling in my head or on the phono. The funniest is the music my parents forbade me to listen to so had to do it on the sly. When I die the undertaker is gonna drain my body and nothing but notes and tunes are gonna flow out.

This is one happy video, and jist e slight bit sexy with a blush of Blind Melon wah wah. Big stars, big favorite, big love!

  • yes!!!!!..i LOVED it that our parents often disapproved..it seems they knew very little about reverse phsycology in those days.

in many ways, our parents where those rock stars biggest allies...if the parents hadnt have been so up in arms,we maybe wouldnt have even bothered!!....hahahahha...or maybe we would...cause the music was just so good.

  • HAHAHAHA!! I remember being told i couldn't have "Children Of The Revolution" by Marc Bolan...of course this made me want it even more...and needless to say i got it!!! Still have it!!

  • i love children of the revolution...that amazing lyric 'i drive a rolls royce, cause it's good for my voice'...a line like that just shoots out at you..... i feel so lucky to have been absorbing that standard of lyric writing when i was a teenager learning and absorbing things.

  • Three words

    Whole Lotta Love

    lol

my dad had a fit at Robert Plant's orgasmic oohing and ahhhhing

    too funny

  • your dad has taste!

  • Fendermac said drop by and check you out. Great video/song ! *****

I have a '79 deluxe LesPaul with the minihumbuckers too!

  • that's when i got that guitar!...1979...from rose morris when it was on shaftsbury ave!

  • The early 70's certainly was a raw time and I agree the music then was like a new frontier.

let me add Captain Beyond, Uriah Heap, Humble Pie.... Alice Cooper '74 "Schools Out", Dr. Hook, Spirit... BTO, Cool Tribute :-)

  • i love steve marriott....what a singer... a powerhouse..and even though he was white...he had funk and soul..the music really grooved..it never plodded..and he sang like his life depended on it...such a shame he died...i saw him just before he died at a tiny venue called the rock garden, when he had'packet of three' and he was on fire!!!

  • Now, this is GREAT, awesome, it is the Grand Strand/ video shooting great with the light/shade/movement/ angles/street scene - talent. And......... loved the sounds of song, lyrics. One of the great ones. Thnxx!!

  • thank you so much...i just been to your channel and watched and listened to 'junkie song' ..so sad and good on the ear....really really good....thanks for writing to me

  • Greatttttttttttt

    Terry !!

  • a real song about real loves

love it & now one of my favourites!!

I lived through all of this & yes just like yesterday....I relive this as much as possible everyday....given the joints away.....but not the passion & music....thanks for this great song!!!

    Gary

  • hi gary.....yes...i feel very lucky that we lived through those decades......music was such a cultural force for us lot...more so than for kids these days...from what i can see the biggest rock star today is steve jobs from apple computers...he's the modern day rebel and innovator.

  • like it!! :-)

  • thanks claudia...i see you got melissa etheridge up on your page...she is serious lady..she gives it everything .

  • cool song.....great that you focus on the guitar and records..rather than the person.....i like..

  • thanks michael....i just had a peek at your channel and HAD to subscribe...i look forward to soaking up what you yourself filter through for us all......glad you liked this little video...and yes,the focus is very much about the gifts and aesthetics of that great era we've been lucky enough to live through.

  • really excellent, love it - ought to be huge :)
