If Wenger won't go for Podolskie he could do worse than look closer to home in the Premier league. Whilst I'm not a big fan of Darren Bent, I think he would be a more ideal signing. This makes more sense to me that Kalou. Sure he would cost a lot more than 3 mill, but Bent is a fox in the box and offers something different than RVP. He is also a proven goal scorer at every club he has played at.
@bolder2009 I would also love to see bent at the club but i think he will cost way to much. I would not mind having bobby zamora at arsenal i think he is quite good.
@afcghk That was a compliment to him. Nothing wrong with being one of the best at holding up the ball well and bringing others into play. Hesky has made a good career out of it, and Zamora has done well in the Premier league, but it won't get you far against the elite teams in Europe. After confidence, desire and work rate, technical ability, and goals win games.
What a night to savor for us fans. Though I cannot help but wonder...what if Wenger chose Park instead of Chamakh? People say Park isn't a really good player but he just has not had the time to develop at Arsenal. We all saw what he can do when he scored at Bolton.Maybe with some gaming experience we could have a good player, he did great for Monaco and still is for his country. I don't think Arsenal fans are expecting to win the league, champ's league and f.a cup just because of Henry's return, they're all just so happy to see a true legend who truly loves the club back where he belongs doing what he does best although it is only short term. @bolder2009 Exactly. When we only have 2 players that have scored more BPL goals than Vermaelen (on 3) you know we're over reliant on captain vantastic. Henry being back will (as shown against Leeds) bring a buzz around the stadium and get the fans up and singing for once but it's only a short term solution, though as much as the lack of goals is alarming what really worries me is that we have 8 injuries, of which 5 are defenders and another 1 is an "emergency full back". Down to the barebones..

As for the amount of injuries, its almost comical. If Wenger can get Abidal for a reasonable price he should get him. @niyird I'm against this whole beating down on players like Chamakh and Arshavin, considering they are OUR players and we should be showing them support, however I don't know how you can think Chamakh had a good game. He spent the majority of it running out wide into the channels, offering nothing in the box. The one notable time the ball did arrive at his feet on the edge of the 6yd box, rather than turn and have a pop, he passed back out to Arteta. #Lackingconfidence.

Watch him in the ACON, if he gets a decent run of games and Morocco play well, hopefully we'll see the real Chamakh. If Arsenal can get Abidal that will be a good signing. He has been exceptional for Barcelona, altough their defence is never really under sustained pressure. Henry scored an excellent goal. It was his trademark finish, and once again Song provided the telling pass as he has done for RVP this season. Henry's contribution was more than the goal. He galvanised the home crowd in a way that is seldom seen or heard at the Emirates. He has presence, which is a factor that has been missing in the team.

@afcghk Goals win games. Its that simple. I've said it so many times before, that Arsenal have too many players who are not ruthless in front of goal. Part of it is a lack of technical quality, and another part of it is the bit between the ears.

@bolder2009 Exactly. When we only have 2 players that have scored more BPL goals than Vermaelen (on 3) you know we're over reliant on captain vantastic. Henry being back will (as shown against Leeds) bring a buzz around the stadium and get the fans up and singing for once but it's only a short term solution, though as much as the lack of goals is alarming what really worries me is that we have 8 injuries, of which 5 are defenders and another 1 is an "emergency full back". Down to the barebones..

@MrCampInABox Can you imagine if we had a striker like Eto' at the end of all those chances that end up with the ball off target? or snuffed out in the 18 yard and penalty box? As for the amount of injuries, its almost comical. If Wenger can get Abidal for a reasonable price he should get him. He is 32 years old so he would not be a long term solution, but he is first choice for Barcelona, and since they want to extend his contract for another 2 years, it says a lot about how much they rate him.

@niyird I'm against this whole beating down on players like Chamakh and Arshavin, considering they are OUR players and we should be showing them support, however I don't know how you can think Chamakh had a good game. He spent the majority of it running out wide into the channels, offering nothing in the box. The one notable time the ball did arrive at his feet on the edge of the 6yd box, rather than turn and have a pop, he passed back out to Arteta. #Lackingconfidence.

Great moment for Henry coming off the bench & scoring the winner but...Arsenal fans need to stay grounded & remember than 1. It was against Leeds. 2. Henry is past his best & 3. You still need a good striker to help RVP. The ox had a good game but his final ball was poor but Im sure that will improve with more games, more experience & more confidence to his football. As for Kalou i think he would be a good signing for Arsenal as he has proved in the past he can play in the EPL.

@afcghk i saw the game on the 09/01/2012 on ESPN. i think you'll find we were watching the same game. People (like you) just follow generic opinion and continue to slag him off, even when he has a decent game. He held the ball up really well and brought other players into the game. Yes he's not on RVP's level but give him credit where its due. He's not going to score goals every game when he only players for 5-10 minutes. Hopefully ACON will help him find his form.

@afcghk he's not poor, look at his start to last season. When he was regularly starting he was scoring consistently. Watch him in the ACON, if he gets a decent run of games and Morocco play well, hopefully we'll see the real Chamakh. Anyone saying his performance yesterday was poor, are just saying that because it was overshadowed, understandably, by Henry's goal. By the way, you look/talk a bit like Tom Dailey.

Apparently he's retiring because of the kidney tumor he hadand we have to respect that if its true. Great goal by Henry. But can he still cut it in the bpl? I hope so. We need to get rid of strikers to buy strikers. We have got bentder and vela on loan. Sell them along with chamakh and have 3 strikers in total not including reserves and Henry. We have got a defensive crisis we need a versitile lb/rb and sell squallci. As for arshavin wenger wont sell him but we do need a world class replacement. Not sure about kalou

If Arsenal can get Abidal that will be a good signing. He has been exceptional for Barcelona, altough their defence is never really under sustained pressure. Henry scored an excellent goal. It was his trademark finish, and once again Song provided the telling pass as he has done for RVP this season. Henry's contribution was more than the goal. He galvanised the home crowd in a way that is seldom seen or heard at the Emirates. He has presence, which is a factor that has been missing in the team.
