@xxxDeath9572xxx Look up the intended tuning of the horn and play the notes on a keyboard. The intended tuning of the K5HL is a crunchy minor sixth chord: C, D#, F#, A#, C, which is exactly the chord that this horn is sounding. Older K5HLs had a different casting for the 1L bell that incorrectly sounded a B instead of a C, so to avoid a discord, the top bell was changed from a 4 bell (C) to a 4a bell (B) to round out the chord. That's why the two sound different - but they are both K5HLs.
Dude I don't want to be a prick here, but honestly sending this video to people to get views is just not right, I haven't sent one of my videos to one person, and my highest viewed video has 3,334 views. So I just wanna let you know. I have over 1,500 videos in my shared videos tab in my messages because of all you people who send me this videos.
Well, not anymore im not.. This was because it was my first actual, " New GEVO ".. Besides the horn is what was kickass on it. But yeah, i am with you 100%! WHAT WAS I THINKING! LOL! EMD all the way
By the way, Q389 terminates in Willard now. If that was indeed Q389 then he was running extremely late. With the GP38 and the GP40/Road Slug in the engine consist plus the hoppers on the head end it makes me think that was Q353. The 3 trailing units were most likely for Aliquippa or New Castle. Q389 doesn't work the local yards so there is no need for the 38s or Slug Sets to be a part of the locomotive consist
Well, this train was running very slowly from new Castle, then lost time due to Q641 going into emergency at Graztown. Then it was held up due to such heavy traffic on the line this day. 6 trains passed before it as we much antipated in catching this train before leaving..
Nice catch ! Are you sure that was Q389 ? 389 usually runs through there in the middle of the night. By the train makeup it looks more like Q359.
One of the older engineers must have been at the throttle. Most of the older guys throttle up as soon as the rear end clears the bridge, the younger guys usually "deadass" it the whole way through the Waterfront
Keep up the good work, your videos are getting better and better
Thanks again, yes this was Q389 actually, Q359 came after this train with tanks on it. But i couldnt stay for it. I didnt have enough battery as well. Probably, cause while watching it go by, there is a kid visible inside the cab. I have seen at times, lately, where with this new "blitz" they are taking quite the unusual time to get throttled up due to work.
Hell Yeah! I was thrilled to see it, since i missed me an ACe the same day.. I freakin thought that was the neatest horn i have heard except for the Leslies, of course. And yeah, it does!
Man do you realize how lucky you are to see all these BNSF units leading these CSX trains? Awesome lashup, video, and especially the horn. BNSF is such a cool railroad. ***** and a favorite.
Yea, well lately, the early morning General Merch train ( Q368) has been hot with BNSF power lately.. i caught some more BNSF again today on Q368.. This was one big surprise that i've been waiting to come for a while now.. I've yet to catch one of the BNSF SD70ACe's that came through on Q368.
wow cool

This is a properly-tuned K5HL horn, not a K5HLL. The newer K5HL horns have corrected the incorrect tuning found on older GEVOs.
trainiax 1 month ago
The K5HL is a much more monotonous sounding horn. This is indefinitely a K5HLL manifold.
