Hey all! 200x80x100cm will that do good for a full grown tegu? im gonna do it with this materials and stuff but just the 200x80x100cm measure. will it be good???? by the way what wood is that
@reptilman94 yes thats good for a tegu u probaly have it all setup by now but yes its big for a tegu. i wat a tegu so bad and know i have got money so where did u buy yours from
@katiewolf1100 I don't have geckos. But where I live the power goes off a lot in the winter. I bought some steralite boxes of various sizes (for each sized snake) and used a soldering iron to make ventilation holes (you can use anything to make holes). When the power goes out I just put all the snakes in their boxes and move them to the living room where our only heat source is during power outage. Room temp is 73 usually.
Nice terrarium, just planning my own dessert terrarium and publish plans and detailed descriptions. Your video is really great will try do do the same with my construction! :-)
@MultiBeardeddragons well its very easy even a kid like me got his point. next time you buy a cabinet or something, be sure not to buy the ready made. it helps you understand some building skills by eyes
@knifecollector98 I'm sure if you put down the bucket of fried chicken for more than 20 seconds you could probably work it out based on previously answered questions.
I created a site, showmyreptile com, where you can upload pics, videos, start discussions, chat w/ other members, and start groups. Looking for members, would love for you to join. Thanks!
@crosby8737 As they cure, pine and cedar release noxious fumes that are detrimental to the sensitive respiratory systems of reptiles and other small animals- even humans. If you must use one of the two, however, try to find kiln-dried plywood, seal it with a few coats of water-based sealer, and let it dry for several days before putting your pet in it.
its allot easyer to put a piece of lexan for the front , and the roof becomes a door with a latch for locking. make it mostly a mesh top for lighting and heating.
Hey saw this video this morning, went out bought all the wood and just finished putting it together. Where did you get the runners for the glass? Thanks!
@chany708 Going to b&q in a few hours to get started on a 2 tier one, Adding 2 water falls inside with water res in the bottom, Gonna be fun, Will post a video!
For the size, value, and usability it would be. What you would likely find at a pet store at the size you can build one of these would likely be well around 100 dollars or more, undamaged, and brand new. Also, you wont find anything that would really compare to something you build. You can easily hang your lighting inside, or just make the top much lower, and build the light source into it. ^_^ You can get creative, and personalize.
@19heato95 yes mdf is fine me and my dad built one over the past few weeks it looks great also it much stronger may i suggest making a vivarium/ tv cabnet thats what we did :)
If i may make a suggestion use melamine so you wont have to treat the wood and it wont warp from heat or moisture cus that is what is required for reptile
im curious. can i place an addhesive heat pad on the bottom of the wood (im plannin on building a snake terrarium) or should i just use glass bottom? ty
i bet the most expensive part was the glass wasnt it? very well done. im gonna build one very similar to this only a little longer for a bearded dragon. great work!
@thsocom41 can i use polycarbonate sheets for the door. and whats the diference between polycarbonate and plexi galss. i just want to know if its safe for my leopard geckos
nice video.. not smart to put a hamster in there though the scent is gona stay in there and ur puttin a snake in there it gona smell food all the time

Like OMFG my wife, kids and myself must all be going to die since plywood was used in partial construction of my house!!! They also say never use pine shavings around animals to. My rodents live on pine just as well as they ever did on aspen only no aspen mites on the pine :)

i didnt fit lamps in it at the time but the clamps and bulb holders etc can be screwed in at the top corners, or wherever.
several venalation holes were screwed in at the sides in a circular pattern.
yeah a metal net for the top would work it could be stapled on around the edges using a staple gun.
