I'mma have to interject! WWEused to be my fav for a long time, now it bores me to tears! I love what ROH, PWG, DG USA, and Evolve are doing, The young talent there has so much potential, and it's not "you've seen one match, you've seen them all!" The matches are exciting an innovative, and way better than WWE's matches. The best matches WWE has had lately have had Daniel Bryan in them, go figure! I just watched a 95 Summerslam vid, an even then the wrestling was better than it is today!
O'Riely and Adam cole have been signed to perform at NOV 12 2010's sho in Detroit's Survival of the Fittest tournament.....and i got second row tickets....hell yes
@Jeremandre Ooo I don't know? Adam is up against Steve Corino and Kyle is against Kevin Steen at SotF. Maybe ya might see a upset. I highly doubt they'll be squash matches. Adam and Kyle will probably win their matches the night after in Ssauga'.
Both these guys are impressive. I fully expect to see them rise up the indy ranks in the next few years. I hope ROH doesn't make Cole into a jobber. They're doing that with Mike Sydal. =\
@tayhunter113 Do you know if theres a vid where I can see the other guy ROH signed, Mike Bennett, haven't seen him before and when I tried to look him up here on youtube all I found was a bunch of golf videos, lol.
Not to come off as a complete asshole, but does any of these guys in Dragon Gate knows what selling is? What's the point of all of these devastating moves, if wrestler gonna make them mean nothing?
Great f'n match by 2 of my new favorite wrestlers WWE hardly ever puts on stuff this great (hell I like both WWE and TNA) I am a real wrestling fan because I like seeing these young, hungry lions come out and entertain us fans p.s. Justin Gabriel WILL win WWE NXT
i think both are ready for entry level in japanese pro, though adam's body might not be :) o'reilly is the more prepared of the two. wouldn't it be neat to see him team with prince devit?
Kyle O'Reilly is one of those guys who will probably blow up in Japan. He's very fluid. I hope ROH brings him in more as well. Great future star. Cole wasn't bad, either.
A Very Impressive no hype or gimmicks or frills, just a Brisk Action Packed match from these two guys & pleasure was enhanced by Smart camera skills / shots / focus into the bargain.Certainly Well worth viewing. Thanks for posting, much appreciated.
Maybe because they suck. Look at their horrible ratings, or how generic and BORING the wrestling is, or the absurd price for their PPVs (which are crap), or how the same people get a push night after night, or how they waste talent (*cough* Bryan Danielson jobbing). It's a joke. Nobody cares anymore. It's the Triple H/Stephanie show. Once HHH recovers he's going to give himself another title. The thing is, he'll never be on the same level as a Stone Cold or Rock.
I've been watching wrestling for several decades now. I'm sick and tired of wrestlers thinking that their industry is exclusive, like it has some secret mystique about it -- nothing is mysterious about it. They're performers who put their bodies on the line to entertain the crowd. As far as that is concerned, the WWE is by far the WORST promotion. They hardly even wrestle anymore! It's all routine, by-the-numbers matches with predictable results. Thank God for indies.
@KarateCop and the indys are all head bumps, 50,000 kick outs in a match, no sell, Kawada kicks, chops, kicks. Seen one match you've seen 'em all. None of these kids know the true meaning of how to work. None know the real meaning of psychology. They try too hard to be Benoit, Misawa, Kawada, etc. Instead they should be trying to change the way wrestling is done, not re-enact a match from Japan.
"Seen one match you've seen 'em all." Hmm, that's funny -- that's just what I was thinking about WWE and its craptastic 3-5 minute "matches" which are always the same thing. I'd rather watch guys who are allowed to display their in-ring abilities than dinosaurs who put themselves over constantly at the expense of the young talent. In WWE it's all about backstage politics. Sorry, I don't care to watch talentless dufuses like Khali and Sheamus squash real talent.
@KarateCop Sheamus is a better worker than all these guys. It's not about how many variations of an armbar you can do; it's about making it mean something. Clearly, none of these guys do.
Sheamus is a NOBODY. He wouldn't last five minutes in a fed like ROH.
I don't think it's up to you to define what makes wrestling enjoyable to watch. It's not a competitive sport; it's a form of entertainment which is predicated on the skill of the performers. There are more styles of "pro wrestling" than just the old WWF style, you know. There's nothing enjoyable in my view about watching young, talented guys forced to put over old guys for the sole sake of seniority.
Furthermore, WWE's ratings speak volumes about the product. During the Monday night wars, WWF and WCW would drawn an average rating of 7 or 8 per show, meaning than wrestling would draw about 14-15 points per showing. Nowadays? WWE, the most commercially viable show, draws about a 3 on average. The point being, people grew tired of WWE's brand of "entertainment." Clearly they don't know how to adapt to the 21st century.
Finally, while NOAH has its older talent, they also have younger talent which they put over. Although it's not my favorite fed, it's still more enjoyable than the current iteration of WWE in my eyes. You cannot win a debate on this subject because it's personal opinion anyway.
BTW, I have strong reason to suspect that you're somehow involved with the WWE. Let me tell you, if such is the case, arrogance will get you nowhere.
Furthermore, I don't have to endure 4 weeks of nonsensical crap on TV before paying rip-off $45-55 for a PPV with no build-up, with the same old tired matches and no innovation whatsoever, because their stable of wrestlers are overshadowed by the old stand-bys who refuse to step aside and let the young talent shine. Same goes for TNA. Federations such as ROH, DG(USA), NOAH, etc. beat the living SHIT out of WWE.
@KarateCop Futhermore, it's a hpyocrite to mention NOAH as a promotion that r promotes young talent, when the majority of their headlines are over 40, and their main draw is a guy who is one bump away from being finished in Kobashi.
@deathhadou wow I said that a year ago, haven't watched pro wrestling for ages, but I thought Chikara, ROH and DGUSA were the best, its great being a wrestling fan, I have nothing against it, just moved onto MMA
My only little nitpick is the comment about the crowd being on their feet 4:27. Annoying as it's quite obvious little to no one was lol. Every promotion seems to do it unfortunately though. Better to call it as you actually see it I guess.
Davey 2.0 is pretty damn good if you ask me. A one on one pre-show match is rarely good but these two, O'Reilly in particular, rose to the challenge and delivered something that could have easily been broadcast on PPV.
Loved the rolling butterflies and how he rolled through the tornado ddt, but it's a shame he followed it with a brainbuster, loads of guys use that move.
Still, nitpicking really, fantastic showing from both guys and I look forward to seeing more of them.
The announcing team is a breath of fresh air. It's nice to hear them actually calling the match move for move rather than promoting the latest tie-in product or hyping the main event the entire time.
they went to high school together..
