  • Thank you for showing us this!

  • nice altar videos btw :)

  • i find that the elements air and fire are represenative of God. when God was first in Goddess (air) and then burst forth and fully manifested (fire). then Goddess desired for God (water) and sent the many souls into God unifying them both (earth). making air and fire masculine and water and earth feminine, then Spirit representing Primordial Deity, manifesting itself in all four of the elements. i also find black feminine and white masculine.

  • ying yang is not male female but descibes the sides of the mtn where the shadows fell

  • Let me explain a different way- things are thought of/conceived in the vast infinite (black, Female, passive, yin) and acting on them, bringing them forth, doing them/action is (white, male/active). Does this make sense? if I use silver it is for the Goddess, lunar; and gold, solar, for the God. Blessed Be!

  • Interesting- you use white for the Goddess and black for the God. I use the opposite as the female is the dark void of creation, etc. the womb, the cauldron of creation from which things are born/emerge into the light of Being... where they manifest/are brought to light, hence the white candle.

  • For me, i am in between whether i should use black and white or silver and gold (although black and white are easier to find)

  • @xxxUnderTheMoonxxx black and white are far easier to find, but make sure the whole candle is one colour rather than a white one with coloured wax on the outside. However, gold and silver can be coloured on the outside and white on the inside =]

  • @xxxUnderTheMoonxxx Pokemon Silver is pretty good, but Black and White are newer and thus easier to find like you said.

  • I use silver for the God and White for the Godess. And I have a Black Candle for Samhain and Yule.

  • As fr the "do what seems right" idea, why throw out thousands of years experience for what you've decide in how many years you'e been alive? It's amazing that people who wouldn't go by their own instinct in the case of physical health are willing to go by it in regards to their spiritual health.

  • Thank you emphasizing the importance of structure. Altars shouldn't be places where you put everything you think is "witchy." An altar represents the cosmos, yourself, and the relationship between the two. A messy, disorganized altar reflects a message, disorganized self.

  • ok guys so this is another good way to set up your altar is HOWEVER THE HELL YOU WANT. its your altar, this is the place where you do majick and spells, so you should be comfortable with it. what is recomended is to have your elements, and a goddess/god representation or candle. the simplest altar is one that is a wooden shelf, pentacle, and two candles. they can also be very complex having athemes, wands, couldrens, many candles. do whatever calls to you! blessed be )o(

  • Thank you for the clarity and simplicity of this video. Tonight I'm setting up my first altar and I will follow your guidance. And you have a lovely voice which I could listen to all day! Aromatic Blessings!

  • thanx for yur vids they r really helpful

  • why is the goddess on the left? ive never head an explination....

  • @gumtreewallow As far as I know its political and historical. The right was always seen as a side for Royalty and Godliness, and women were associated with the left side which was next to Goddess-ness... I'm not 100% sure of that, but its part of the whole Divine Feminine or something... I'll have to see! :)

  • @shazzypbear

    thanks for explaining :)

  • @shazzypbear and @gumtreewallow:

For me, i use the left for the goddess because the veins in your left arm are connected directly to the heart.

and i associate the heart chakra with the feminine elements and thus the Goddess :) just to add my six sence.

  • @gumtreewallow The left side of your body has always been identified as the feminine side. The right side has always been identified as the masculine side. So, the Goddess, being female would go on the left.

  • @helziangel i have that too! :D

  • I have been looking for a video like this!!! Thanks

  • Brilliant video! Really helpful!! All your vids are so useful! BB xx

  • Great video! I was taught that the white candle is the God, and the black is the Goddess. But I think it just differs on what tradition you've learned. Great video for those beginning :-)

  • This video helped me out with the color of the candles.. I wasn't sure which (black/white) was for the Goddess or God.. I should have known better though.. White = silver shinning moon = Goddess.. XP

I just needed confirmation and clarification.

    Thank you!
