As a self-proclaimed George Romero fanatic I can tell you George Romero actually wrote a book called Dawn of the dead, and he actually wrote short stories. There is one called Clay..it's sick. George Romero will forever be the great director of all time. Also, he was the nicest guy in the whole entire world when I met him. Until I found out who the author of Land of the Dead was, I didn't know that this song was referencing a horror novel writer lol, obviously George Romero.

Did George Romero write novels too. Last i checked he was a zombie horror director. The song references Night of the living dead, Dawn of the dead, Day of the dead, and then land of the dead. This can be found in the line that says

"night turns to dawn and dawn into day, and the land overflows with the dead

I don't know if Romero was a horror novel writer or not, but most Hollywood based films that are works of fiction are adapted from historical events in history or a popular novel.
