@dalbarnes Well, lets see it could be the oven temp, (each oven is a little deffernt.) also could be the type ov pan that you used, you can get it just right if you just work with it. Don't give up!
Great video! I've been making bread for over 2 years now, starting with the no knead method. I now got into making sandwich bread as I hate store bought stuff.
Anthony, you add salt in the dough because you want your bread to taste a little salty. Unsalted bread would taste different. Now, What if we don't have that mixing machine? Is so easy to mix it with your hands! and also is a different feeling that you get to the bread. Finally, I think you got bread over cooked, you can tell how it looks at the top. Probably in your oven, for that loaf size you need only 30 min. God Bless!! thanks for the video!
tHE CATALYST OF THE YEAST DOUGH IS THE SUGAR, NOT THE SALT. PERIOD. STOP TALKING WHAT YOU DONT KNOW, AND KEEP PLAYING FUTBOL, PROBABLY YOU SHOULD DO THAT BETTER THATN COOKING.
@JohnLennon100 .....hahahaha...funny.....someone got mad for being told a fact......I never said salt is the catalyst...I said salt is important to have in the dough because it controls your dough from overrising and not rising at all....
@elreydefutbol111 Don't be stupid .... unsalted perfectly risen bread can be easily baked and also commercially bought...salt just adds flavor....I wished you know what a fact is .... keep playing "SUCKER" ....I bet you do know that very well ...and keep you moronic laugh at yourself ...
Tony! you are the man, this is my first try at bread. I live out in thailand, most people here dont have ovens so i just bought one today. the first thing i put in it was your bread!......looking so far so good. thanks again!
Great bread! This started me out making my own, so thanks for the video. I have expiremented since the first loaf, I use a bread machine to do the mix and rise and then swap it over to a pan. Also, try swapping the 1/4 cup sugar with 1/4 cup honey--good stuff! Again, thanks for ALL your videos, you are an inspiration for men world over.
Tony you the da man! I can't wait to try this 'baking' thing. Thank you for making it look easy and for introducing the baking thing to this 'masculinated' fool! ;)
The wifey will be amazed im sure!
Enjoyed watching this, can't wait to see your other videos.
I've made this recipe a few times. It's a GREAT starter recipe. very easy.
A few suggestions. If you DON't have a KitchenAid then watch a few YouTubes on how to knead dough. There are a few good How To's.
Also, once you get it in the pan, let it rise for 30mins -1:30 until it's near the top of the pan but not going over. If you don't, it comes out VERY dense. it's still tasty as hell but I like it a little flufflier.
Great video man, i was just wondering how to make one.. and i will try this weekend. I thought Eggs are not a process of making bread, is that true for some kinds?
ok, I did the bread and it tested fucking great but i don't have one of those machines that you use so I did it by hand and it was a pain in the what i was saying, it came out to be great bread thanx again for this video
My dad once left a giant flashlight (the kind that use those 12-volt lantern batteries) in the oven and turned it on in self-clean mode, which is the hottest an oven ever gets. Needless to say, we spent the night at Grandma's that day.
Self-rising flour contains baking powder and salt, I would not recommend it.
You can certainly substitute all-purpose flour in a recipe, all-purpose flour
Does not have gluten, gluten, helps the dough rise and retain gasses as it bakes resulting in greater volume and better texture. But all-purpose will work.

Regular oil, the butter doesn't really add any flavor to it.

@JohnLennon100 , also the salt is controlling the yeast, trust me, if you didn't have salt in there then your dough would be all over the place.

@JohnLennon100 ........ what are you talking about??????????? it controls the yeast dough.

The salt slows down the rising speed and gives for a better tasting loaf.

great tutorial video
i wish i saw this when i made my first loaf
but as they say you learn by your mistakes
i can now knock up a prety decent loaf,
nothing is more satisfying than tucking into freshly baked bread that you make your self :)
also i dont have a big mixer like that
i have a cheap hand mixer that comes with dough hooks
so if anyone wants they dont need a big expensive machine to make the dough
you can use regular hand ones too
but you need the hook attachments
