played this song in my marching band back in 1992 - 1996. I forgot what year we played it in but OMG we rocked it out. My mom has it on an old VHS tape. LOL. good quality too. ^__^
Nearly 35 years and I still LOVE this tune, I still have the cassette tape, though it does not play right,,and had the shorter 45 version, drove my brother and sister nuts replaying it over and over! Thank you djbuddylovecooljazz for uploading this memory.
There are certain songs that are iconic - to me, anyway - and this is one of them. It came out in 1977, the year we permanently moved to Florida. It reminds me of a Florida that no longer exists, a Florida of orange groves, kitschy tourist attractions, jazz-fusion - a Tampa that was still largely palmetto and sawgrass out at Town and Country, blistering heat, purple-blue stormy-skies, dissolving into liquid sunshine, and summers spent with my grandparents and great-grandparents.
Feels So Good was often used for selling stereo systems in homes or cars. Where you wanted to hear the stereo seperation of each instrument. I would always walk into a Federated or Silo ( for us oldies ) or car shops and hear this tune for selling their stereo equipment. Also my older brothers ( now deceased ) favorite horn song next to Herb Alperts Rise.
i dont like jazz music that was made after 1973 but chuck mangione is an exception that statement he is the best trumpeter since miles davis and louis armstrong
@CuntyYes Wouldn't you like to have the money this "retard looking" person EARNED from this song for the millions of records it sold and the millions of times it was played over and over, and as you can see they still haven't got tired of hearing it. This son has spanned over 4 decades and sounds as fresh as it did in 1977!
@georgelee43211 OH i know what you mean? kind of like Hill Street Blues? well, I think that was a piano and I'm not sure what Hill Street Blues is but I think it's a police show. Whatever ... I do know what you mean. :)
I remember this song from when I was 3 years old (don't ask me how, I just do.) One memory I have...my family just moved into a new house and I remember one Saturday morning waking up really early and going outside and sitting on my porch in my Spider-Man pajamas. My next door neighbors had their windows open and they were playing this song. Every time I hear this, it takes me back to that moment. I love this song. In a strange way, it's melancholy and happy at the same time.
my sister used to cry everytime she listened to this song when she was only like 4 yrs old, : ) we used to always ask her y shed cry and everytime i hear this song it reminds me of her sobbing sayin "i ,, dont,... knooooooow'' :) lol beautiful song <3
It took listening to a Music Station on my Cable Television to find out the name and artist of this song. One that I have heard many times throughout my life. One of my favorite instrumental songs of all time.
@Cortinajet ME TOO! I've been searching for this song's title since 1989. I finally googled "Instrumental Songs from the 70s" and it listed a few, I searched this one and ALAS! I have reached the holy grail.
I have been looking for this song since 1989 and I when I heard on a movie called "Let's Go To Prison" that's how I was able to find it

This song was also used in Steven Segal's "Hard To Kill" movie. He was listening to this right before he ejected the tape. Love this tune.

The only thing in life better than this original recording is his inclusion in King of the Hill; any song he plays slowly morphs into this, hah.

I saw him in concert in the late '70s. He's a dynamic performer and talent. Who would have known that the fugelhorn could sound so good?
