love gene and his music since i discovered him in the seventies when i was 12 ,now i have band of my own ,we always include his songs ,,for me the king of rock n roll ,,always rem .u gene
It's a very beautiful song! Anyone knows what did he mean when he says "A pill, I thought everything was funny/A pill, and I thought our walks were sunny"? Thank you very much!
Dear EnglishPoet, just google I a bit and you will find it....I have google and downloaded it a couple of months ago and it is really gorgeous.....Unfortunaltey I can not recall where I found it but is is on the internet......
We have to thank the arrival of You Tube A Gene Vincent fan from way back Never realised he sang such great ballads as are appearing on You Tube His range from My Favourite Dance in the Street to these Ballads is incredible But the strangest thing of All is he never had a No.1 Not even in Top Ten in UK Highest he ever achieved was No.15 Why ??? I dont know or care. He Was Unique As was Elvis ; Roy Orbison Long Live Rock n Roll / Rockabilly The First & Forever TeddyBoy
What is it about this song? Someone please tell me. This song came out in 1969, the year I was born. I was always curious about his later material, but I think this song may be the best he ever did. I found this a few months ago and I can't seem to get my late cousin out of my mind when I hear it. My cousin also died of alcoholism, at the age of 28. If Gene survived all that and went on, his career would have resurrected in some way and reinvented itself.
That vid made me cry! One of the great( and unfortunately very underappreciated) heros of Rock´n´Roll limping, carrying he´s own guitar by himself, nobody waiting, a little swollen face due to hes alcohol abuse...But always a smile in hes face...
He shure is one of my heros..
If there is a Lord above, please take good care of the one and only Mr. Gene Vincent........
When singers could sing and we understud not like todays crap thanks gene n eddie gone but never forgoten
