  • while laws don't chande i use my flipper...

  • Assisted openers are not deemed a switchblade since 2010,the only thing Obama has done that I like.

  • Keep abreast of the news - Obama was the one to sign this horrifying possibility away. It's amazing how quick some people's knee-jerk reactions take hold and reason shuts down. I don't love him, I don't hate him, but I can't believe people are still using childish name calling tactics in replacement for intelligent discussion and commentary. I guess everyone doesn't have that ability.

  • the only time a switchblade is used for violence is in the movies.

  • "the beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try and take it" - Thomas Jefferson. RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT 2012. FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS.

  • The3percent I'm with you this is crazy like u sad the firearms now this come on

  • American citizens should be proud...We in Europe has no one that fights for "our knife rights"

  • This is unbelievable! 1st our firearms..now this? INSANE!

  • TY for keeping ur rights safe sir, Barrak Osama doesnt know a little word called the 2nd ammedment, which knives are pretty much part of

  • @RockAnd0rRoll It was a year ago(comment) times have changed, more compromises now than there was at that time

  • What is the point of having a Constitution that protects our rights to own a weapon to defend ourselves, our families, and our property if we dont have any of those rights? Fixed blade knives are already illegal to carry in my area, now they want to take my folders? and im not allowed to own a gun. So every one come rob me, I'm completely deffencless.

  • Screw it, how is a pocket knife dangerous when a kitchen knife can do worse?

  • Knife Rights News Slice - WE DID IT!

WE STOPPED CUSTOMS Pocket Knife Grab! The President signed into law the FY2010 Homeland Security Appropriations Bill on October 28, 2009, protecting our pocket knives. The bill included our amendment to the Federal Switchblade Act that clearly exempts assisted and one-hand opening knives.

  • I think I saw it on a belt buckle about guns, "They will get it from me when they pry it away from my cold dead hands". I use a knife everyday as a tool, and to make my living. Whats next, screwdrivers, forks, pens, pencils?

Thank's for the info.,will pass it on !

  • It's stupid for any government to ban any kind of knife. It's not going to stop any criminal from killing. One need not use a knife to kill someone.

  • I'm not from the US but I hope that congress doesn't pass this laughable crap.

  • i have a small pocket knife so it is ileggle to have a small knife to open boxes

  • In Germany they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak, because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak, because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak, because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me and by that time no one was left to speak for me. -Martin Niemöller Fight for everyones rights, not just your own.
  • Jewish bankers are responsible for millions of deaths. Hitler was right.

  • THE JEWS KILLED JESUS!

  • absolutly brilliant quote, couldnt agree more!

  • Then don't fucking comment asshole. We don't want some prick bragging about how the knife laws don't apply to him.

  • watch theywill disarm us next fuck them all

  • I'm really glad this is getting attention, it's about time somebody told the government they cannot keep eroding our rights without people getting fed up with that shit. People think this act will only effect customs, without understanding that many courts look at what customs considers illegal and legal to make other decisions on rulings that deal with carrying knives and general ownership.

  • For more commentary head over to our website at CutleryNewsJournal. Today's post right on the money.

  • It is either a step to disarm us or tax us (via knife permits)

  • i have total support for americans trying to defend their constitution-given privacy, and maybe i'm just not well-informed, but is it really going to be that big of a deal if you can't carry a knife around? Why is this necessary? This isn't the dark ages after all...

  • I think its less about knives and more about the precedent this will set, today they say I cant have a knife, tomorrow carpenters are working with rocks because some bureaucratic asshole decides a hammer is a deadly, dangerous weapon.

Theyre not getting my knife or my hammer, I'll need em' both when the dark ages finally do get here.

  • Why would it be considered the Dark Ages just because some people carry knives? It's a tool. Many people use it for woodworking. A lot of the knives in danger of being banned aren't even made for fighting.

  • inertia? wtf is this bullshit?

you can't change the definition of a object as you'd like!

that's the equivalent of changing the definition of "gun" to anything with a trigger.

there goes hot glue guns, silicon injectors, paint ball markers, and even those little toys you get at some stores.

    is this still America?

  • Yes. Welcome to America, where we proclaim freedom only because we are programmed to think that we do.

  • You know what I find funny, a lot of people are worrying more about guns than knifes. Knifes are more tools than weapons.

  • Fuck customs...I'll start wearing a sword on my back..which is legal in my state..lol..well as long as its visable..

  • i wonder what i'll carry if they ban folders...

  • Just carry a fixed blade. I switched to a fixed blade when I lost my flip blade.

  • I wonder what Thomas Jefferson would think? "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government".-Thomas Jefferson... hmm!

  • The original "switchblade" ban is one of the most absurd, ill-conceived prohibitions already. A blade that opens with the aid of a spring is no more deadly than a normal, fixed blade. If are too dumb to see this, please go get sterilized ASAP. A baseball bat is a much more efficient and deadly weapon than a little knife. What's next? Background checks for baseball bats? Ban of unsupervised baseball played by minors? Only allowing foam bats unless you are trained, fingerprinted and licensed?

  • Maybe I shouldn't have even put those ideas out there.

  • look what you have done america you have put these "democrat saviors" into the government. ok if you ban folders ill carry my 12" booie knife

  • Ive got a suspicion that this whole rule change proposal about assisted-opening knives is nothing but a ploy to turn more Americans unwittingly into felons over the knives which they already possess, which would then in turn mean that they cannot continue to legally own the firearms which they already possess, or purchase other firearms from FFLs in the future.

Its just another baby-step towards tyranny from the one.

  • All folding knifes illegal ?

    That's just disgusting, It's only a knife!

The laws are already strict enough as it is.

Customs disgusts me, I loathe customs and everyone who works for them.

Can anyone tell me if this new law would effect people in Canada ?

    Thanks in advance !

  • time to kill all the fuckers !!!!!!!!!!!! : O

  • Yes! This is a good idea! Let's use violence to solve a legal problem! That'll certainly prevent this from getting ratified, and will defend our second amendment rights!

  • Our guns will be next. Pisses me the fuck off...

  • Every one has a knife of some sort... your nabor your friend you, the hobo on the corner probly has a knife that will fall into this ridiculously stupid change in law... and butter fly knives fall into this also so help us defend the 2nd amendment...

  • Total socialist agenda.I'm not going to use the fingernail knives.I guess i'll be a criminal if this passes. Hope whoever tries to enforce this doesn't mind getting stabbed in the neck by pissed off people..

  • I can hear a storm it seems as if the powers that be are gearing up for something big.

I cant believe that all this time I have been mocking conspiracy theorists only to find out that what they have been saying all along is happening. Holy crap man when did

    WE THE PEOPLE become sheep?

i will spread your link everywhere

  • the people became sheep approximately 1990 and 1992, with the yuppie lifestyle becoming the American dream...

  • Will my name be used to call out a S.W.A.T team to come and confiscate my Knive, swords and b.b. Guns?

  • Do not let this happen like we did in the UK. Fight for your rights.

  • Another example of the establishment pestering the common man.

Just getting rich by blowing up the global economy was not enough, it seems.

  • I like yer style of living

  • all day

  • i have a ? what if we have them inour hpome in our own private collection because i researched the legality of balisongs and switchblades about 4 months ago and all the sites said in connecticut its leagal to blade or a balisong (butterfly knife) in your own homes private collection. im wondering if that would still come into play.

  • I'm stocking up on these knives "just in case". If they are outlawed, they will be worth a lot more money just like with guns and ammo. If these knives are outlawed it would be a great investment to stock up now.

  • free to keep and bare arms", over rules any laws or regs the FED can imagine. Arms is a knife, gun, stick, pepper sray, ant tool to inflict bodily harm for personal or communal defense. I will obey the constitution and no other.

  • Yeah! This is our country, we obey enough ridiculous laws as it is! What gives THE GOVERNMENT any right to take away the freedoms of the people who empower them?! Any serious knife collector, or even anyone who just uses a knife as a TOOL, is no damn criminal. Customs should be taking care of more serious issues than condemning cutlery. What is this "revision" supposed to accomplish anyway? You may have an automatic firearm but NOT an automatic knife...that makes perfect sense.

  • welcome to european politics

  • Exactly. No wonder europeans love obama. I'm soo glad european citizens voted more Right Wing than usual.

  • I'll have to just walk around with my Ontario RTAK II and tell the cops that I'm on my way to go fishing or hunting. Because God knows that my RTAK II is so much less deadly than my Spyderco tenacious.

  • I lol'd. It's right.

  • nice speech.

  • This is singlehandedly going to criminalize of 40 million americans!

  • I would so pay to see them make it in to texas saying we are comming for your knives. ths DHS secratary and the Boarder czar is behind this and i am beyond pissed right now they have pressed it beyone believe and i don't know how to put it with this administration and they expect 100 million knife owners to hand it over in this country thx to obama we have a gun and ammo scare whats next a knife scare just bring it. the can kiss my ass

  • we already have that, because I don't know about you but I can not find a decent selection of knives in any store anywhere

  • are they gonna take away our fucking butter knives too?

  • If we let them they will.

You know, the Government and its agencies are supposed to represent the people. If we don't like what they are doing, then let's elect a different group.

  • Raid The Picnic Grounds..............

  • Hope you US fellows stands up against this crazy idea !

  • Those Bastards!!!

  • this is just another way to disarm americans so we can be pushed around a little easier. bet that if this passes a few more laws will be passed to help pacify us, then something big that would be big enough that would make citizens arm up, but low and behold at that point we will be completely disarmed.

  • ya ban knives, those damn knives just get up and walk over to someone and stab em, its not the person with the knife, its the knives fault, it all makes sense now. just like spoons made rosie o'donnell fat, it wasnt her fault its the damn spoons. we should ban spoons too

  • knive should be put in jail, they are pure evil :P

spoons just dot have morals, they run away to have sex with forks while the knives are murdering people.

  • They can take my knives from my cold, dead hands. And yes, my knives are protected by my guns.

  • wow thats is some bull shit

  • you best be talkin about that law... and not my new friend...lol but seriously every one has one and if it passes every one could be tryed for this BS...

  • Amen to that. They wont let me carry a gun to protect myself legally, now they don't want me to carry a knife? sounds like they want bad guys to have an easy time hurting us

  • This is bull shit! They want to ban my guns now these people want to take away all my knives.

"when one hand opening knives become outlawed, only outlaws have one hand opening knives"

  • Lol I just went to a taxidermist today and I got this pretty cool pocket knife and it was illegal.

  • ...and the government continues its march to rule your entire life . . .

  • there is no way to do this congress will never let this through

  • Congress really has nothing to do with this because it's not a new ruling in a case, it's just changing a definition. Sure while Congress can do something about this to help, they won't because they honestly don't care about you or your rights as long as they get that pretty government check and retirement check.

  • This SOOOO stupid!! This is like having laser, lights on police issue "scares the public" BULLSHIT you should have any knife,or firearm. It's only the act afterward to protect laws should come in play.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords? What part of 'shall not be infringed' do you not understand? Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety. you shoot to stay alive.

  • This is SO f***ing ridiculous! It's beyond my comprehension. I can't even understand how you can change that definition. The gov't may be strong, but they're also quite dumb at times.

    ATF

  • Thanks for sharing. I just signed up on AKTI.

I hope knife enthusiasts really take action, It would be sickening if they restrict knife laws any further. Common sense should dictate that the length or method of deployment of a blade in now way affect propensity to commit crime. The bad guys will still be bad guys, and the good guys get penalized and have one less means to protect themselves and their loved ones.

  • We are heading the way of the UK folks. They stood bye and became defenseless I hope we don't do the same. 5/5

  • Just a quick note, the effective date of this action is slated for June 21, 2009.

  • This is so stupid, it is sad, but most likely it will be passed. People get outraged whenever someone even hints at a firearm law, which they should, but no one even cares or hears about laws that concern knife laws.

Sad but true, and that is why states have such harsh knife laws when they have such liberal gun laws, some states that is (like texas for instance).

  • This is absolutely ridiculous. Are they going to ban my steak knife next?

  • Yes, then your butter knife. Then your spoon, then power tools.

  • maybe you can team up with the N.R.A. becoz this is 2 amendment territory arms is not just guns its knives spears axes

also the knife making&selling industries provide jobs - jobs

  • Good to see that you're putting out videos to let the general public hear about the situation. Here's hoping.
