  • This is one very "scary" video. =p

  • the windows like exploded. i was outside when this happened.

  • lol..that scary darkness in the windows when the tornado strikes! brrrr

  • incredible footage, scary

  • charge it with armed robery

    ... and loitering

  • The day this hit....I was 8 then and I was in aredale iowa not too far a away I feel sad for those 7 people whom lost their lives that day..... :(

  • I was in janesville and cedar falls the day this happened for my cousins graduation. I parked my car in Janesville at a gas station. then the tornado hit...i was worried my car would be gone! but instead i just had HUGE dents in it from the hail that hit it.

  • I say god hates taxes.

  • Im terrified of tornados now I stayed home one day when it was awful weather because I was sick. My entire school was wiped out later that day out of 600 or so kids and faculty only about 300 survived ,It was terrible so many of my friends were just...gone,

  • @are92fan I feel bad for you, my friend was lucky. Have you heard the Windsor tornado in Colorado. My friend was driving to the store with his mom, he looked out the rearveiw mirror and there was a wall of house parts and dust just flying at them. God Bless You

  • a tornado killed half your school. amazing. must not have been reported in the media or entered into any casualty data.

  • this is how taxpayers feel about the banks bailout.

  • please subscribe parkersburg channel

  • O_O

  • Now that's what I call a withdrawl!

  • @joesmoe71 XD

  • Don't forget that 8 people died that day. So if you think this isn't the real thing, you are so wrong. The town was leveled and there's nothing to laugh or joke about here. Lives were taken, lives were ruined. But the people in that little Iowa town are tough, and rebuilding is still going on. Parkersburg will survive!!

  • IMAGINE BEING THE MANAGER OF THE BANK AND YOUR THERE BY YOURSELF CLOSING OUT AND LOCKING UP ....YOU WOULD BE TRAUMATIZED EXPERIENCING THAT ALONE. LMFAO!!!!

  • Oh wow ... i feel so sorry for the bank. They have to pay to get that whole place fixed. Oh wait! - Nevermind ... they'll just pass on the cost to their 'customers' ... Ain't no way any of those bank executives is takin' a pay cut ... they have yacht payments to make.

  • Bank vaults are rated for nuclear blast effects, so yes you'd be safe (in fact the built bank vaults out at the Navada test site back when they did above ground testing of A Bombs to certify how bank vaults needed to be made)

I've always said the best place to work if you want to survive an F5 tornado is a bank.

  • i was so frakin scared tht day

  • Amazing in that last clip how you can see it go from a bright afternoon to pitch blackness in an instant out the window.

  • that was fuckin crazy :O

  • Good i hate banks. Bunch of rich assholes.

  • @Groome007 Thats because they worked for that money unlike you.

  • @mide7 haha ... way to stick up for greedy corporations

  • @Groome007 Well if you want to eat garbage for the rest of your life consider the bank one of the most important things in your life. When your poor with no home, chuck norris wont protect you.

  • SWEET LORD

  • wowowowowow

  • Storm must have sucked, but I would have liked being one of the first people to come across those ruins after the storm... Hey I found a million dollars!

  • in reality the vault is the safest place in the bank

    in the

there is a survival story that people survived an F4 tornado in a bank vault

  • If you think this is fake, you might want to do some research and then also read about Ed Thomas and what happened to a great man.

Maybe watch some ESPN and read the newspaper.

  • @jonathanthecoachman redneck place

  • the last shot was frickin scary! like you could c the tornado coming in the window

    aaahhh that was freeky!

  • daaaaauuuum that last one was fukin scary

  • @mryjn420090 stupid

  • that is so scary... just the thought of being in that room at the end, sitting there, and it's all bright and then a tornado hits, wow...

  • Damn that's intense.

  • who was turning the lights off and on at 50secs?

  • Dude, you CAN'T be serious. The tornado messed up the electricity.

  • the bank is literally anchored to the ground by 10-t weights, it would take an F6 tornado to even rip part of it out of the ground, BTW, i saw this on a show called "Destroyed In Seconds"

  • Just to correct one thing, you may have been kidding but, you know the Fujita Scale only goes to F-5 right?

  • With the right ingredients, a tornado can spiral up winds of up to 360 miles per hour, and I would classify that as F6

  • @ManofWario no such thing as f-6

  • However misplaced your humor, that made me laugh; I'm sure it makes alot of other people as well regardless of what they leave in reply to youlol

  • I dont agree with 'onehitta1', i think youre a douche bag.

  • Umm no I live in Iowa, I was in this storm and that video made it on the news so im pretty sure that its real... not every fucking building flies into the air when it gets hit by a tornado... That just means its built well! God people like you piss me off!

  • You're joking, right?

  • That is actually sunlight on the walls of the drive thru at the last part of the video. I remember some stills that shows the sun behind the incoming tornado. It is something to watch the bushes out front spinning before the tornado hits.

  • u better fear god..Not a ditch or basement can save your ass from tornado..its dangerous

  • i live in iowa and i have sen strate line winds that a really bad

  • OMG that was unreal

  • Welcome to Iowa were there are Tornados and floods.

(I know, because I live in Iowa)

  • me too! this year has been the worst with the long winter! And all of these storms this has been the worst year ever where I live in Iowa!!

  • money go bye-bye!!!

  • i just went through that toen 3 days ago, and i have never seen anything like this in my life. i saw peopel who were gettin pictures taken in front of what used to be their home. it just makes yo feel guilty inside.

  • HAHA,Hollywood, can`t mess with this.I`m sorry but,I`m not going to post anything funny.Sorry, for those ppl who lost their livesand property.

  • i have a flood video

  • dude I use to go to that bank.

  • i am sorry but that is awesome.

  • oh my god. D:

  • Odd- Check out the pneumatic transport thing on the left at around 47-48 seconds. It looks like the container was left in it - then it disspears! Wonder if the air pressure actually sucked it back out?

  • Wow--I didn't even notice that, but I'll bet you're right. Amazing!

  • i bet some retard is gonna say that this is fake

  • hahah I believe you!!!!!

  • Very scary and interesting...thanks!

  • there was a pretty big explosion in one part.

  • it looks like something exploded outside in one camera angle

  • it's amazing to see the windows darken as the tornado passes.

  • At 00:23, what exploded? Dude theres fire and stuff! Thats nuts!

Rest in Peace, to all the victims of the 2008 tornado season.

  • I think a car or something.

  • nowhere to hide.

  • woah that was crazy sucks there was no sound

  • Thankfully, no one was inside the building.

    Incredible footage though.

Thank you for posting this video.

  • this has to be one of most amazing tornadoe survilance vidoes ever, probaly even better than the Caruthersville tornado footage form 06

  • yep i agree, its so amazing!

  • Amazing video! I am surprised that more folks haven't viewed this yet. One of the most impressive tornado impact videos I have ever seen, if not the most impressive.

  • This is sad that this type of tornado hit the town but also it is in awe that we finally get a glimpse of what happens in a building during a tornado of that magnetude. We always see tornados from the outside but this shows us the true terror of a tornado. This needs to get out nationally.

  • The worst part is, that wasn't even the EF-5 part, that bank only sustained EF-3 damage.. If EF-3 is that bad, EF-5 must be millions of times worse.

  • I don't know if your from the New Hartford/ Parkersburg area or not, I live in New Hartford and I was told that the tornado was at an EF 5 wind force the whole time it was over Parkersburg, died down to an EF 3 when the Sinclair grain elevator got hit, than rose again when the New Hartford Farm houses, the cemetery, and Deer Ridge got hit. I don't mean to start an arguement or anything like that I'm just relaying what the national guard had told me the day we got hit.

  • Yes, that is right, but the entire tornado didn't do EF5 damage. The core of the tornado did EF5 damage, but as you got closer to the edge of the tornado it got weaker, though likely not weaker than EF3 or EF2. The bank was only glanced, and thus recieved only EF3 damage.

  • sweet
