I can't be arsed reinstalling and stuff, so I'll just tell you what I can remember...

Start a race, press start, options, gameplay, and it should be something like 'racing line' or 'help' or 'indicator' or something. Just mess around with the settings and you'll find it.

You can turn it off somewhere in the options. I don't like driving with it because it tells me to brake too early. :p
