Nope, it's not free. It's $20 normally, early in the morning during a sale it's $5, and later in the day during the sale it's $10. Sometimes there's not a sale. I've ridden it two times. If you get really scared.. don't pull the ripcord!!!
It may be weekends because lots of people are there on the weekends during the middle of the summer. But on weekdays it's not that much because there's usually not a lot of people there.

When I rode it,it was at like,7:00 - 8:00 or something and it was only $5
