is fallen the most technical shoe? no its a basic skate shoe people may depend on.you dont need an xlk sole or cruisecontrol to be a good skater.but most shoes have cruise control to help with impact and lakai has xlk soles there is nothing wrong with that but you dont need it! no matter what people tell you different shoes wont make u better it may give u extra grip or coushoning but will it really change your skating?fallen may not be the most technical but i can depend on them for a good shoe

@TheTAYLORBEAST to be fair the majority of the new technologies companies like dc make are just gimmicks. all a skate shoe really needs is a suede upper, a bit of padding and a sole. shoes are sold with gimmicks like that to get kids to buy shoes thinking it will make them skate better. look at vans, their shoes are super basic, but still a great skate shoe. cole moved for the money, but fair play to him, if you were offered big money to skate a different shoe most people would.

@SlidingMarble actually Super Suede and technologies from companies like STI labs (etnies, es, emerica) are not gimmicks at all. They are all very functional, make the shoes last longer, be more flexible, and protect your feet. Vans are great shoes for board feel, but tear up very quickly and hurt if you land wrong. I completely agree about the money thing though. I'd take a raise at any time.

But on the shoe issue, I think technology is important. Take the Fallen Forte and compare them to.. lets say the Etnies Jameson, they are both great shoes, but the Jamesons lasted longer and had better insoles thanks to STI's technology. Bruise control is very important to a pro, who can not afford to bruise a heel and be put out.

Rob Dyrdek is known for riding with DC, not Alien Workshop. If he all of a sudden was riding for Etnies, people would be the same way with him, as they are with chris. DC made Rob the big name he is, so its just a bad vibe. Thats just how i feel.
