im going on my 3rd saab and im only 24, count your blessings because ive had over 5 cars throughout my life and can only tell you one thing, the swedes are especially good at building safe cars because out there in sweden they need to be...the weather becomes hostile very fast and it shows in their build quality

I live in Gothenburg, Sweden where Volvo's are made and my family have driven Volvos all the time.. but last year my dad bought a Saab and he hit a moose and got killed.. he had crashed in to mooses 3times in volvos but nothing happened to him.. so that's why Saab's sucks.. and the Turbo is mounted on the front of the engine witch make the oil very warm and that makes the turbos live shorter!

Swerving is the worst thing you can do in that kind of situation, just slam on your brakes and keep heading straight, if you hit a deer, or a dog, then you hit it. If you swerve you can end up with a lot more damage.

Saabs and Volvo's (i am a big fan of both-unsurprising since we have a saab and my grandparents have a volvo) are amongst the safest cars in the world-although I think Volvo have overtaken Saab (just) in that one of their cars is the safest in the world. Swedes seem to know how to produce good products. Cars. Music. My grandads 10 year old V40 has only had one problem when the battery ran out.

Finally parents that had the foresight to have their kid driving around in a safe car. I used to be a performance driving instructor and I can't believe how many parents were going to give their kid some 10+ year old compact car or a large SUV. I've recommended Saabs more times than I can remember. You can save money on their car and possibly loose them in a crash or you can spend 5-8K on a good used 2000+ 9-5. For me its an easy choice.
The first Saab I ever owned saved my life. A 1984 900 turbo. I have not owned another brand of car other than a Saab in my life. I'm on my 4th. 22 years of Saabs. I now have a 9-5 Aero wagon. I bought it a month ago as I hit a deer at about 55 M.P.H. and totaled my 97' 9000 cse. My friend called it a "soccer mom" car. It'll go 155 m.p.h. and is super safe.

Been in 2 REAL wrecks in Saabs. They saved me both times. I was SPEEDING! Off at 80mph the first time, and walked away, to gather the axle, gas tank, bumper, etc. and put it on the wrecker. Off a 10ft embankment at 60mph the second time (slow learner), onto a truck size boulder. Walked away again, even tho I hit the seatbelt so hard it shattered my collar bone (and that's all). 1985 900T, and 1992 9000T. No pics but take my word, worse carnage both times... Thank you Saab!

5 star encap, strengthened passinger cell, every car in its class (BMW 5 Series etc) can not even come close to the peace of mind the 95 can. Plus the Saab 95 is faster off the line then a BMW 5 series and faster then a Porche 911 turbo from 80 - 120 kPH. Amazing underestimated cars. I drive the HOT aero and I will never go back to any other car as they will never come anywhere near the quality of SAAB.

Glad you're ok. Got 9-5 myself, saved by life year ago when I got hit by a truck on a motorway - would never buy any other car than Saabs - they are the best! Hope your mum buys another Saab.

5 star encap, strengthened passinger cell, every car in its class (BMW 5 Series etc) can not even come close to the peace of mind the 95 can. Plus the Saab 95 is faster off the line then a BMW 5 series and faster then a Porche 911 turbo from 80 - 120 kPH. Amazing underestimated cars. I drive the HOT aero and I will never go back to any other car as they will never come anywhere near the quality of SAAB.
