You know what sucks about jack, just before you meet her she gets one of the most bad ass build ups/introductions in video game history and it’s a total let down she keeps telling you that she is crazy but she is 100% loyal and just a little bit emotionally damaged. I often think to myself as I play Mass Effect 2 how cool it would have been if at some point in the game you returned to the Normandy SR-2 to find that jack had killed a NPC like Kelly Chamber or one of.... Look for my next comment.

@druidenis which is really sad considering that Pull isn't her signature biotic attack, it's Shockwave (Warp Ammo's her signature ammo power). Jacob, Samara/Morinth and Adept/Vanguard Shep also have Pull, which makes Jack superfluous, since Jacob has Barrier, Samara has Reave and Shep's Pull has a cooldown time of less than 3 seconds.
I really wish they could've just given her that biotic megaton punch as her Loyalty power (the one she used to destroy 3 YMIR mechs).
@romxxii it could be that they balance some characters around lower difficulties because she does make husks on lower levels trivial. But I've used her on insanity with the geth shotgun and she's been raping stuff. Sometimes stealing my kills :(

@Crimsonjassic really? A squishy biotic whose main attack, Shockwave, only works on unarmored foes, and whose shotgun specialization means she keeps throwing herself into the thick of combat? Sure, her upgrade means she deals 20% more damage than your average biotic, but until you get warp ammo, she's ineffectual against opponents with Shield, Barrier and/or Armor. At least Samara can use Reave (and rifles!) while Miranda has Warp and Overload. Now had they given her Biotic Charge, OTOH...
@drsedula Maybe it's because I play on Hardcore and Insanity these days, and most biotic powers save Pull Field, Area Reave and Heavy Warp are mostly useless. Hell, even Pull Field requires setting up with a few shots or an Area Reave to strip armor and barriers.
If you're playing on the higher levels and have actually made Jack useful, I'd love to know what you did.

Miranda and Jack are basically 2 sides of the same coin. The positive and negative effects of experimentation on unwilling human test subjects. At least Jack has the good grains of sense to be pissed off about having her childhood stolen. Rather have a girl that acts real than a phony company kiss-ass.
What class do you think I should be? Anyone? I'm not really a fan of purely mage calsses in RPG's but I'm willing to give adept a go cos ME2 is a different sort of game. I'm tempted to go for warrior calss but will it just be like an FPS then? Sentinel and Vanguard look tasty too.
@DaBigCheeseLuigi i was an infiltrator the 1st time i played. it's really fun to hack the geth and let them shoot it out. also, if u get into trouble, u can use stealth to get away. plus, sniping ppl is fun. u also get the incinerator power, disruptive ammo and cryo ammo.
Infiltrator or Soldier is good if you've never played through Mass Effect 2 before I think. They are alot easier and there's nothing like popping assasin's Cloak and Sniping someone's head off in slow-mo lol. I'd say save Biotics and Tech for a second playthough

I love this girl. I romanced her and managed to soften up her attitude a bit because of it. She is a very beautiful in a non traditional sort of way. She appears to have a very single faceted personality at first but as you talk to her and break down her barriers she opens up and you see her softer and weaker side. Best character ever.
Could anyone explain to me why RPG need to pause the action while the player choose something. This is so unnatural. The firing and movements of every character should continue while the main character is choosing the menus. Pausing is like watching a tv show with commercials every 5 seconds. It is like watching youtube in slow connection. I really don't get this pausing. I got ME2 right here on my hand. And I'm not convince opening it.
BioWare usually seems to make good characters, but Subject Zero seems like their way of conforming to the 14-year old boys who make up the Xbox Live community.
Why can't we have a video game hero who is genuinely a hero these days? Instead we always have these generic, tired, and lame characters.

That is a great way to put it. Video games always either make female characters completely objectified (Bayonetta....) or when they try to make a "strong female" character, they just end up like guys that just happen to look like a girl.

They're trying to show the personality of the character... thus the swearing and agression. If you look at the other character reveal trailers, they all vary according to their personalities.

Thane- good for adepts, if you enjoy a range job. he was the best for me, but that's because I was an adept
Legion- powerful at all mechanical specs. if you havent been levelling tali, he can pick up your slack
Garrus- I use him the most because he suited my adept best

Miranda- Spams biotics without consent
Grunt- Won't shut up and does nothing
Mordin- Hides in the corner
Jacob- Don't know. Don't use him.
Tali- Ironically really beast. Saved my life over 4 times.
Thane- Sucks at his job, sniping.
Legion- Does Thane's job, sniping, better.
Garrus- Normal I guess.
Jack- Doesn't use biotics at ALL without consent.

i had her on my squad along with garrus most of the time.
and i loved how she destroyed mirandas room.
She was my personal psychopath, which will explode (wordly) and kill everyone in the room just for fun.

Miranda and Jack are basically 2 sides of the same coin. The positive and negative effects of experimentation on unwilling human test subjects. At least Jack has the good grains of sense to be pissed off about having her childhood stolen. Rather have a girl that acts real than a phony company kiss-ass.

What class do you think I should be? Anyone? I'm not really a fan of purely mage calsses in RPG's but I'm willing to give adept a go cos ME2 is a different sort of game. I'm tempted to go for warrior calss but will it just be like an FPS then? Sentinel and Vanguard look tasty too.
Any recommendations?

@DaBigCheeseLuigi i was an infiltrator the 1st time i played. it's really fun to hack the geth and let them shoot it out. also, if u get into trouble, u can use stealth to get away. plus, sniping ppl is fun. u also get the incinerator power, disruptive ammo and cryo ammo.

Infiltrator or Soldier is good if you've never played through Mass Effect 2 before I think. They are alot easier and there's nothing like popping assasin's Cloak and Sniping someone's head off in slow-mo lol. I'd say save Biotics and Tech for a second playthough

I love this girl. I romanced her and managed to soften up her attitude a bit because of it. She is a very beautiful in a non traditional sort of way. She appears to have a very single faceted personality at first but as you talk to her and break down her barriers she opens up and you see her softer and weaker side. Best character ever.

Could anyone explain to me why RPG need to pause the action while the player choose something. This is so unnatural. The firing and movements of every character should continue while the main character is choosing the menus. Pausing is like watching a tv show with commercials every 5 seconds. It is like watching youtube in slow connection. I really don't get this pausing. I got ME2 right here on my hand. And I'm not convince opening it.

BioWare usually seems to make good characters, but Subject Zero seems like their way of conforming to the 14-year old boys who make up the Xbox Live community.
Why can't we have a video game hero who is genuinely a hero these days? Instead we always have these generic, tired, and lame characters.
All she does is add violence and profanities to the game, I know teenage boys think that's cool but I would like to see an actual character.

That is a great way to put it. Video games always either make female characters completely objectified (Bayonetta....) or when they try to make a "strong female" character, they just end up like guys that just happen to look like a girl.
I would like to see a game with an actual strong female character. One who isn't just an object and one who isn't just another one of the guys...but a girl. It gets tiring.

Again, I never said anything about the game, and I never said anything against the other characters. Just Jack/Subject Zero.
I think she just dumbs down an otherwise very good and smart game with how juvenile of a character she is. Violence and swearing don't make something cool.
And like I said, I would like to see a strong female character in a modern game, not a "girl" who is more or less just another guy.

Lol Actually I think MAss Effect 2 (Jack Especially) Gave alot more realism to the game making it darker because They did Cuss and there was alot of violence. To tell the truth Not everyone is going to have clean language and do you really expect an ex-convict who was tested and tortured as a child not to enjoy violence. I personally love Jack's Character and applaud Bioware for implementing her. The Galaxy isn't full of only carebears

Well I can't applaud them for adding the most generic of video game archetypes into an otherwise great game.
And why is it everyone who likes this character claims other characters as things like "carebears?" There's nothing wrong with wanting actual heroes in video games, instead of generic action characters.
I see her backstory as an excuse, not a reason. Not to mention she had it better than the other prisoners but just wants to believe she was the most mistreated. She's just a whiner.

I can see your point. But I think the purpose of this trailer was more about revealing the character than it was about the game. They're trying to show the personality of the character... thus the swearing and agression. If you look at the other character reveal trailers, they all vary according to their personalities.

read the whole bit, i'm aware of this. however I don't think it was simply marketed to horny teens, just because sex was mentioned doesn't necessarily mean the marketers had sole intentions of profiting off of puberty. its not like once you hit 18 that stuff doesn't grab your attention
