  • I'm walking down the aisle to this song. I'm only 19 but, when that time comes....

  • @relaximdointhis

Good choice, do it, i think you should. it will blow everyone away...

  • Kanye's production on "You dont know my name" by alicia keys brought me here. :)

  • why have they removed Euphrates River????????????

  • why have they removed Euphrates river????

  • beautiful :*(

  • I've heard plenty of these songs before they even got sampled in my younger times.

  • Wonderful song by Main Ingredient.

  • Quit blaming Alicia Keys for "You Don't Know My Name" sampling this song. That's all Kanye. He did it.

  • @SamanthaMichelle91 so what?

  • Alicia Keys sampled this for "You don't know my name"

  • Great Track ..

    Many Thanks For The Post

    1&True Love

  • i find these songs from those used them. i don't know why, but i still think those new songs are better, like alicia's you don't know my name

maybe i just don't have a feel for old songs- -|

  • tru talk

  • Yes, I love it !!

  • ALC sampled it at :15 on first to drop the boldest Mobb Deep / IM3

  • i REALLY thought Alicia Keys was playing the piano on her song untill i heard this song. it makes me wonder about her piano skills because most of the songs she has recorded playing the piano are "sampled" sounds.

  • @tislamic7 She could play this song on the piano, but you have to understand that "You Don't Know My Name" was made by Kanye West too, and you know what he was famous for back then.

  • @tislamic7 No, Alicia didn't compose "You Don't Know My Name", however, she composes a lot of her other songs though.. she's really good at playing piano too. I went to one of her concerts back in 2004 and damn! She did a killer piano freestyle. I heard somewhere that she is a classically-trained pianist.

  • @tislamic7 she records and does most of her songs. the only reason that song was sampled is because she was working with kanye and kanye samples so many things to make people realize the music that he admires. thats why people come to the songs that he samples and find out much more about classical music like this. you guys should be proud honestly. he is shinin a light onto all of you who werent born in the 70's

  • @SmokezZ908 I am very proud of Kanye. That dude is brilliant. A beast in the booth.

  • i like this a lot better than the songs that sampled this, and those songs weren't bad either

  • u guys make make it sound like its hard to make a new song outa sample u just take the good parts of the song

  • real music, lovely!

  • don't know what knye tune used this i like the alicia keys thing though

  • You Don't Know My Name - Alicia Keys

  • @mista- Kanye produced the Alicia Keys track so its the same one they're talking about

  • really, that's the deepest digging i've ever heard from kanye, i could almost say i'm impressed but that would go against everything that i believe

  • completely agree with "retardedcore"

    thank you retardedcore!!!!

finally someone in here with some taste and knowledge!!

  • what makes you a genius for sampling obscure music? i though people like Madlib, MF Doom, and JayDee(or J Dilla) have been doing that shit longer then Kanye, and other people have been doing it longer then them

  • @retardedcore

    its not what you sample......

    its how you sample it:P

  • Plus you listen to 2 seconds of another track & know it can make a whole song... sometimes you gotta know when to mess with the sample or just leave it the hell alone... It's just having an ear for the music from listening for so long

  • indeed, you have to see a sample like an instrument.

  • Comment removed

  • You suggesting Madlib, MF DOOM and J Dilla are (were) NOT geniuses?

  • @retardedcore, J Dilla and Kanye were around the same time and Hip Hop has been sampling since the beginning.

  • @retardedcore It really depends how you flip it, some people "sample" by just looping certain parts of the original. Others will sometimes distort the beat or chop it up until it sounds very different from the original (See Kingdom Come by Jay-Z which samples Superfreak by Rick James)

  • Found out about this from my good friend Jamie Freud, Good looking!!

  • damn kanye.

  • SO GOOOOD!!!!!

  • kayne is a genius for this one..

  • Thats what it is kanye...

  • DUH! who dont reconize this beat sample! this is excellent to know who the original is!!!

  • Kanye IS a Beast for this one though.

  • Alicia Keys - You Don't Know My Name

  • wat song did kanye use this on? i cant remember?!?!?!

  • man kanye fuckin did his homework for this one! made a classic!

  • Kanye West is a genius. Kanye West is a genius. Kanye West is a genius. Kanye West is a genius. Kanye West is a genius. Kanye West is a genius!!!

  • Wow! I'm old enough to have heard this in it's time. How did I miss such a gem? Alicia Keys is good but this is awesome!

  • Well sampling can be a negative for taking someone's rythym, but people are devoted enough to including there song in the first place so they wont live in a record but in its influence which it passes me.

    God Bless soul music.

  • ☆You Don't Know My Name★

  • ALICIA KEYS!!!!!!

  • Mobb Deep - First to Drop A Beat the Boldest.

That's the way to sample shit.

  • wow. this song is amazing.

and yea, i heard it from alicia keys song.

but i think thats an excellent way to find amazing old music.

ive found so many great songs just from wanting to find the sampled song used.

like producers such as J dilla, 9th wonder, MF doom, the likes of them, i have found such jems.

i myself make beats and the majority[bout 98%] is all beats sampling old soul, funk, pschyadelic music. and its amazing one can do with one track and TOTALLY transform it.

  • @StraightGruesome exactly exactly EXACTLY! lol ^_^

  • the piano is hella dope wit it! alicia yabes version is cool too

  • The song tells as much a story as the picture does, the hairs on the back of my neck nearly stood on end the first time I heard this rhapsody of melodic rifts and heavenly piano playing. Its as good as indulging in a rich chocolate bar...

  • This is REAL music, right here...i realized LOTS of artist sample from originals, but it still takes skill to pick up on a certain of a song and then loop it and it becomes a track (if that's how it's done.) Another ex. Jay-z's "girls, girls, girls" sampled Tom Brock "There's Nothing in this World That Can Stop"...

  • wth this isn't on euphrates river it's from shame on the world 1975

  • On the Japanese import. Don't know why...

  • Kanye West is really egocentric and lame. This is REAL music. Don't come on here not to talk about shit except Main Ingredient.

  • There is nothing wrong with hearing a great song, and reintroducing it to another generation/genre of music. Its called Recycling... R We recycling something cuz you just like it so you say it just like it?

  • It's really annoying to hear a song I love and to read people talking about some egocentric dick. I find it sad that people can't find a good tune by themselves, it's only when it's sampled by someone and made into some chart-topping bullshit.

  • Ahh, I have to interject here. That sample happened to be used for a wonderful musician and entertainer (Alicia Keys), and although the past musical wonders were wonderful, I think the new aspiring artists deserve credit where it's due as well.

  • right on man!

  • i hate that shit too. i erase all them comments

  • Comment removed

  • Kanye also used this in Lil Waynes "Comfortable" from Tha Carter III....... Even tho I loved both songs, I hope he doesnt use it again.

  • kanye produced you don't know my name... kanye sampled u dont know my man for comfortable

  • listen to approx. 1:46 onwards...the fast descending chromatic keys are basically played throughout the backing of "you don't know my name" but in a different key.

  • @spunkyspam Good observation because the key on this track stays the SAME!!!! On Alicia's it changes 3 times in pattern and key. Listen on Alicia's version at 2:42.

  • i cnt tell how u dont know my name came from this, dnt even sound alike. its pretty damn good how he sampled dis to that

  • If you listen to it over and over again you can hear the similarities. The beat was sped up and they took the piano part.

  • yeah i kinda hear it now actually

  • in my opinion kanye used this as well as it could have been used, but iv heard rumors that it wasnt actually kanye at all....

  • lol please don't say this cause this sample is one of Yeezy best to me

  • it was kanye

  • Kayne samlped this to perfection!!

  • nice!

  • kanye wishes he had the main ingredient

    no comparison

  • 1:45 to 2:11 contains all of what Kanye used, but he chopped it up some too

  • now that sound like Alicia Keys song "you don't know my name"

  • Alicia Keys actually did sample this

  • Damn I love this song it self & it's 1 of my fav Kanye samples!!

  • fuck kanye

  • Fuck u!

  • Kanye has used some beautiful soul and funk songs. You should listen to "Sweet Children" by Ceasar Frazier. He sampled it for Common's "Real People".

  • you don't know my name

  • That's a dopeass cover

  • I said the same thing. U don't get the same creativity on album covers nowadays. Like old Earth wind and fire covers Maze featuring frankie beverly covers was the shit too.

  • Nice

  • This is awesome

  • no shit!

  • I LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!!!

  • this song is the bomb if miss keys can make a

lillion wiht it you know it's good the hormoney is very nice

  • kanye made more money of it

  • kanye is gay shit..

  • this is givin me erection .. *ooops*

  • no shit!

  • This is bad
