  • where did she get the broom? lol

    GREAT chase

  • Um, why don't you take off your heels, you brainless bimbo?!?!?!

  • awesome! I have never seen a quality version of this scene. They need to put out a fully restored HD version of this sometime.

  • is it me or do exit signs give scenes an extra spook?

  • Pssst...hey Wendy, YOU GOT TO TURN AROUND.

  • @scaryymoviess

Me too I don't think this is much of a deal

I've seen more cooler chace scenes

  • damn good chase scene the darkness and that funky get down music blaring in the background only adds to this fantastic little suspense gem! the actress is terrific as well!

  • LMFAO The killers voice is hilarious

  • 1:20 and 1:31 - In real life, school exit doors would never be locked from the inside. That's a major building code violation, as people might need to get out in case of fire, medical emergency, or psycho ax murderer.

  • @logik316 What if the murderer locked them himself ensuring his victims could not escape the building?

  • @XTCMUSICOFFICIAL

Yeah, I guess he could've offed the school janitor and stolen his keyring.

  • wow that was okay

  • BITCH WAS CHOPPIN IT IN THOSE HEELS!!

  • it actually seems a lot more believable to me w/o a lot of music in the background

  • why wouldnt she just run in the gym

  • I love this movie, but the only thing that I don't like is that it was filmed so darkly. A lot of movies, especially horror movie, were shot this way. Some scenes it is hard to see what is going on.

  • One of my favorite chase scenes in a horror movie....EVER!!! Lol :)

  • The disco music that plays in the background just adds to this scene! :) <3

  • Wendy was badass! I loved her character

  • Killers back then were so slow. Now they can just pop up out of nowhere and kill you.

  • They don't make chase scenes like these anymore. After "Prom Night" the only good chase scenes were Helen "I Know What You Did Last Summer", Sasha "Urban Legend", Gale "Scream 2"....other then those the chase scenes kind of died.

  • @HP1818 What about Sidney and Casey in Scream??

  • This may be a great chase/death scene that makes the movie more powerful and entertaining, but I'm not sure I believe that it's healthy to have scenes like these in movies. They make life out to be very cheap and glamorize humans torturing each other. Wendy may be a total "B", but this scene still always bothered me, especially when she cries. I'm not sure she deserved to be terrorized like this.

  • @stitchesful =/

    Are you fucking serious?

  • @Elijah4Everr

    Are YOU?

  • @stitchesful Yes, the fuck I am. Your statement is ridiculous. PERISH.

  • It sucks how she goes through all that, perfectly evading the guy only to get killed.

  • this, along with helen's i know... were the best chase scene ever filmed!

  • I love this scene so much and what I also love about it is the exit signs red glow that makes everything more eerie. IDK but I have a thing for dark places and dim lights in horror movies.

  • I just read that she was married to Micahel Crichton and she (are your eady for this?) co-wrote the 1996 movie Twister! Lol. There you go. x

  • @petie71 He also dedicated the movie Jurrasic Park to her and their daughter haha.

  • This is kindof amazing. I like the fact that her kill is poff screen to.

  • you know this girl HAD some quick ass reflexes i would've never been able to dodge..

  • OH AND I like the fact that during the scene, there's no annoying music that's trying to "tense" the moment, silence is a lot more effective

  • I like how she at least tried to defend herself by fighting back, so many times the chick just gets offed so simply when these days you know girls would definitely kick some ass if some psycho was trying to kill'em, I don't like how so many horror movies perceive girls as weak and vulnerable, meet some of women in my family, lol they'd def be tearing a fool up!

  • I hate old horror movies but i thank goodness that they were made because there would never be the great remakes!!

  • @jyleke95 your kidding right?

  • @rafaelLEE93 i am soo serious!!!

  • 1:26 pretty sexy ehehee

  • Wendy is the type of person who you hoot for the killer to get

  • Well, Wendy was the original ringleader - and caused the tragedy that was the catalyst in this film. She got what she deserved.

  • i was in tears i thought she was never going to fecking die.

  • Jam

  • Oh CHRIST-someone HAD to bring up that piece of shit remake DIDN'T they? Wendy actually was crusty with a heart underneath. Obviously she had been trying to put the past behind her, but her true feelings for Nick (an earlier scene-a true and warm-"I don't want it to be over") and her bashing of Lou's stupid antics redeem her tarnished soul somehow("I TOLD you I don't want any one hurt!").

  • Great chase scenes are sorely lacking anymore in horror and this was one of the best. Despite (or perhaps because of) Wendy being such an awesome bitch, the moment is rife with suspense.

I actually cheered when she clocked him in the garage and wanted her to live.

... Lastly, lets take a moment to pay proper respect to that AH-MAZING dress and make special mention of how that girl flew through the school in HEELS. Mmm-hmm. lol

  • God , first time i see how fast the killer runs instead of the usual slow walking . Great suspense ! love it !

  • @wondersoulz Totally the dress, heels, make-up and hair. She looked amazing. I've always loved Wendy, even when I was kid and saw this movie for the first time. Lol.

  • @petie71 woah , my comment was 8 months ago , times passes really fast 0.0 , yeah same here :)

  • awesome chase and death scene this was back when horror was intense and suspenseful ^|^

  • The thing I always remembered about this movie was her dress. Love that red dress!

  • wendy is so hot

  • I have to agree, so hot!

  • That was a really good horror chase scene. They don't make them like that anymore.

  • Amen to that.

  • This chase scene inspired SMG's chase scene in I Know What You Did Last Summer. Kevin Williamson has called this chase scene one of the best in the horror genre and I agree. I loved the character because she was such a great bitch! And she had some wicked lines too.

  • I never knew he was directly inspired. Very cool. Good on him because it is my favorite chase scene since this one and really the only truly good moment of IKWYDLS.

If strong characters like Wendy and Helen are going to die, you cannot kill them unceremoniously with a random stabbing or something so it is nice they have exciting death scenes deserving of the characters.

  • totally agree. I feel like if the character is real enough and the actor good enough, the chase scene can be pure horror movie magic.

  • People always talk about this chase scene. Why is it so special?

  • r u kiding it's like the best in the genre

  • @kirstenrox234: Because horror movies particularly chase scenes are based on this certain piece... This originates the chase scenes history...

  • dang I was scared! Great scene!

  • omg its hot jamie lee curtis from halloween 1 and 2!

  • and halloween 7 aka h20

  • WHEN YOU BUY THE DVD FOR PROM NIGHT. I remember THE FILM 1997 :I Know what you did last summer

  • the only killer's i can think that run are... leatherface, scream, and this guy

  • jason...freddy...

  • not really

  • @FutureLegend0 not really? what do you mean, not really?

  • @superwebkinzknight His name is Alex.

  • o thanks for tellin me! :D

  • dang, she was my fave character she had some good lines. but she can run pretty fast in high heels :D

  • What is the actresses name who played "Wendy"? She was the perfect bitch. She is also in the music video "Poison Arrow" by "ABC" from the early 1980's. She plays a perfect bitch in that video also. LOL

  • @JWJNC I doubt you even care now, but her name's Anne-marie Martin.

  • was that axe real because the part where he swings it at her head is awesome

  • Run baby, run...the killer's gonna get you Wendy...

  • great scene. thanks.

  • I love how the Killer actually runs in this, it actually looks alot more scarier when the killer is chasing after his victims like in Scream. This was the best part of the film, the rest of the movie sucked. All this scene needed was scary music and it would've been sweet

  • wow, thats gotta be the best film quality copy of Prom Night i've ever seen! Those Swedes are geniuses at rstoring movies!!

  • i bought a copy of the film about a year ago in Sam's Club

    perfect qualaty

  • I love this chase! But whenever she goes into the auto shop I always feel like she's going to the same school as Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles 0_o. Like, yah...I'm crazyyy :/.

  • WOW, in all my years of seeing horror movies i have never seen a killer run that fast before! great quality by the way! thank you so much for posting this, and you were right in the subtitles, all the slasher films got all the chase scenes from this chase scene!

  • My only problem with this movie is...Why the hell does the killer make that strange noise when he kills someone? Its annoying.

  • That noise is "Now, Now, Now, Now". LOL.

  • OMG!! this transfer is beautiful!!!

  • ive watched this movie 15 times this year

  • 2 and 3 are a different story...a weird story about the ghost of a wicked girl bent to have fun killing teenagers...or something like this.

  • Run towards the music Wendy............towards the music!

  • she can run n dem heels

  • wait i dont get this old one.

    So,

Theres teens, who 'accidently' killed a kid, and so a guy in a mask, stalks them and kills them?

  • Yeah, four of them "accidentally" kill Robin Hammond and covered up what happened, but someone witnessed it, and knows what they did and is out for revenge

  • Oooooh.

    & That CONTINUES or HAPPENS AGAIN in the 1980's Prom 1, 2, 3, & 4? O_o

  • I don't actually know, cos I haven't seen 2, 3 and 4, but I don't think its the same storylines.

  • Well i guess ill watch them tonight.

    Thanks.

  • Prom Night 2 is completely different and IMO a better film.

  • 2,3,4 take place in the same town/the kids go to the same high school.

2&3 are about a ghost that haunts Hamilton High, and 4 is about a priest that goes psycho and kills a bunch of kids that break into his monestary.

  • Talk about going to pieces on your prom night!

  • Why didn't she just run back the way she came when she left the classroom!

  • at least the killer was stylish.

  • Lol @ 1:15

The guy almost forgot his axe back in the bathroom xD

  • I enjoyed Lisa's chase scene, in the theater i was really scared cause i didn't know if she would die or not.

  • That's the POS remake. And by the way, it was painfully obvious that the black girl was going to die, she was such a moron.

  • how was she a moron?

  • to watch in even greater quality add &fmt=18 to the end of the ural

  • I'ts funny how when they show her eyes b4 he strikes her and as he strikes it goes black. It would of been great if they didn't cut her death to black though .

  • Omg, thanks, I seen this on DVD, everything was as dark as night.

    -Izzy

  • thank you.
