This is absolutely fantastic - Just pure music, I love it, and I think you could do wonders with the song "Orestes" by A Perfect Circle. The original version is somewhere between alt rock and metal, but if that's not palatable for you, there's an official acoustic version released by the band, as well as some piano/guitar/vocal covers floating around YouTube. It should give you an idea of the versatility of the song, the room for personalization - and I'd be thrilled to see where you take it.

I just tried messing about trying to do a complete acapella version with all the strings done with vocal harmonies, it wasn't really working. Sounded fine until it got to the main riff and then it just sounds strange in a bad way. I looked at all other acapella versions of that song and similar, all goes well until the main riff, just a limitation of the human voice. If I could play violin though, that'd be another matter...
