Don't you just love avast! I have been using it foe about 2 years and LOVE IT! Yeah, this is off subject but I got a letter in the mail a few weeks ago and it said I was a winner for a ramdom drawing and it has a check for 4,00$ for taxes and if I sent them my back info they will send me 118,000$ to my back account. Well I looked up online and it was on ripoffreport that it was a scam and I called my local sheriff department and they said it was a scam too. So look out! good vvid betaflux!

I usually delete emails I'm not 100% sure of, but I recently received one that really piqued my interest. It wanted me to click a "secret message" to me, which I didn't. My service provider advised that I was correct in assuming that anything toxic arising from the opening of the missive would only effect the computer on which it was opened. I obtained an old computer that a buddy was about to toss and plan to use it as a test computer: forward suspicious mail 2 it and open there. Is this safe?

hmmm, never thought about using this program to read the links. I just usually hover my mouse over the link and look at the very bottom of the screen where the link shows up, if it doesn't match then I know it's a definite fake

I got an e-mail from Nokia says that I won £295.000 on a lotterly powered by the Internet for their 143th anniversary!!!

then the guy told me you have to pay £700 insurance!!!

I will always klick on the links and so on with my linux or mac computer, if it asks my password (the system) then it is a virus or some otker kind of bad stuff.

Or I will only get an EXE on my desktop, everyone knows that APP is executable for macs. EXE doesn't work

Yah sometimesi t's easy to tell when it's fake. IE 7 definatly doe not need a serial # or CD key since you can download it for "FREE" off of MS anyways.

For those who dont have Frontpage, like me, you can just right click the link in the email and u click "Properties" It tells you the REAL link, not the link its linked to in the email, Just a tip if you understand me,

Thats been happening to me lately too. Something in YouTube is stealing the place of your courser and taking it out of the comment box so when you type, it doesn't show up, You have to click back in the box for some stupid reason.

avast and McAfee are the 2 best avs also avst is the best av i used along with avira i never recieve emails from microsoft only once when i sent one to support and atleast they didnt have any links this is a good video telling people about avst anyways what email provider r u with

Sounds like you let the registration run out or didn't register it to start with.

Go to the avast site and fill out the short registration form for a new number. That makes it good and full version for 1 year.

LOL, I like it when people try to scam you by those "Thank you for your interest ..." and you didn't inquire about what they're sending you oh and Avast has the best alert sounds, haha it would freeze up on me though in the middle of scans sometimes. =\

There is another scam with paypal just like this. How i knew it was fake was because paypal writes Dear (Your Name) but the email was Dear valued paypal member, please update your settings or your account will be banned. Reported to Paypal :)
