Man, he sure likes to keep going back for arms ammo. I usually just keep going and never double back if I can help it. I want the points from the remaining time. I see we both use the "fire into the next section" tactic to walk the bullets forward and kill enemies before they can even see you. It seems kind of cheap, but if the game lets you do it then it's fair game.
I know a way to get BEHIND scenes as well invincible in the last level...anyone else know about it? No BULLSHIT i actually had a dream about it and d it as an experiment..
why is the main dude laughing, you just massacred about 2000 of his men and nicked thousands of rounds of ammo, and youre coming for him!.. never got this far before, the fire men and the cats etc seem very un-rolling thunder... good playing tho and really enjoying seeing this.. I used to pump many 10p coins into this on caravan holidays
This was my favorite Nintendo game back long ago. And I remember doing all that hopping around. You learn early on, it's the only way to get through obstacles. :)
Thanks! (Haven't seen the original screen/gameplay in almost 20 years) I never did have the time to learn to get past the "lava men" back in the day, but loved the game just the same. (The ONLY arcade game that gave me more than I deserved for just one, single quarter...NAMCO did the gaming world justice with this classic.
People say "look at this old game, its dated, etc" but really, how is this any different from call of duty? You shoot spawning bad guys, duck and hide in doorways and behind crates, get better guns, etc.
The MG exploit is awesome--I did do it in the arcade, but until this video I hadn't bothered at home. I prefer speed running. The guy playing it definetely has the patterns down. Lately, I've been too twitchy and getting myself shot at ridiculously rookie occasions.
Some of these guys are totally innocent. They just walk out of the bathroom, satisfied with the feeling of a great shit--then you come along and shoot them!
Does RT promote racial equality? You have members of the KKK (in bright, garish-colored hoods) and black panthers attacking you. Don't flame me, it's just something I noticed :-)
I myself have Namco Museum 50th Anniversary for PS2 as well. I played Rolling Thunder and I almost could never ever make it through the lava level and when I finally made it to the next level, IT WENT COMPLETELY FROZED ON ME!!
When that face came out at the end, for some reason I was expecting: "Welcome to your doom!" ...Love the animation in this game. I used to play it back in the day but died so fast, cuz I was like... 6 or so.
@justin2raw "That game is so fucking old look at techoilgy now days wow a big differnce"
And it's still better than some of the crap released today.
This game was released in 1986, that's 24 years ago and people today still know about it, mostely Gen-Xers (people born during the 70's) off course, but let's face it, those people are the real gamers.
One of the greatest old arcade games ever...A TOTAL classic...I remember being so scared of this game when I was just a kid in the old (and great) arcades.
All the different colors of the maskers, the music, etc...Just awesome. LOVE IT!
If anyone wants to listen to the music to this game just follow these easy steps:
1. Download the rom and run it on MAME.
2. Press tab when the game starts up and go to the Dip Switches option.
3. Turn service mode on.
After that, there will be a sound test option right on the screen for PSG, FM or Voice. Then press left or right to select songs and press the button you use to make your character shoot and the music will start playing. If anyone needs help just send me a message.
Man, I spent so much on that game! I used to work at a 7-11 when I was young and as soon as I got off work, it was rolling thudner! This game and the MUSIC was a classic!!!! God it brings back memories, I would even take dates there to play the game!
Thanks! If any retro game franchise deserved to be brought into the 21st century and modernized (but not ruined), Rolling Thunder would be a great choice. It would great as a tactical FPS with James Bond overtones.
This is from 1986? Amazing. You can clearly see that the architecture beats that of any Genesis game, probably any SNES game too. The animation is so detailed, so many frames. Such an imaginative game, too.
What the fuck are you talking about ? this shit is tight ! , i been playing this game from way back . . jason bourne espionage shit right here , biatch !
Hey, I'm not saying it's a bad technique; it allows him to have an almost endless supply of machine gun. Just saying it makes for some pretty boring watching.

Actually, just realized that it came out in one year before Shinobi. So even if one game ripped the other off, Rolling Thunder is the original.
