the 'other guy' part is kinda rude...hate when they do those things to the other members of the band...I mean, they are not called Adam Levine and Maroon4.. but interviewers seem to think so.

as far as "spot on" live goes, i have to agree except for when theyre performing makes me wonder. adam just runs outta breath all the time, they always perform it half a key lower, and the whole performance is prtty empty and pitchy but everythin else is good.
and yea time will tell the direction theyll be pursuing. idk about their new single misery though. again too poppy for me. but they sound fantastic live

I like Matt Flynn, but he's like never in any of the interviews! He's a rock drummer, Ryan Dusick was too jazzy for me.

i like matt's drumming, but without Ryan, they don't have falsetto backing vocals anymore...
thts why the bands vocals sound a little empty...
i wish matt could do the backing vocals too, or just tht Ryan didn't get injured and didnt leave...

yea for sure, except they just dont have that falsetto.
ryan's vocals were always adam's vocals just an octave higher in a rly high falsetto and as a jazz/electronic/pop rock band, they needed that.
now only with james and jesse's vocals (which are significantly lower) theyre missing something...
also, i dont think their new "prince-like" poppy and super electronic sound is helping them live either
i loved them and i wish they would go back. and i def hope they dont disband

Jesse's falsetto usually delivers really well, but completely agreed, ryan was really essential, on songs like This Love you can really hear it
as for their "new sound" i guess time will tell, they're usually spot on live and hopefully that won't change

misery is good, not the best but still a good single, im excited for the album. they seem really confident, the beacon theatre performance was great
