There have been more than 80 episodes created since its 2005 relaunch, but they haven't exactly retconned nearly 50 years of history.

All you need to know is that there's the Doctor in his TARDIS, the little blue telephone box that's bigger on the inside than on the outside and he travels through time and space with a companion at his side. Most of the time. Every series has a arc for it's own, but it's not neccessary to watch every episode to understand & love the show at first.Better start with the pretty ones and see if you like them:D

Which episodes and characters touched me the most. Not including every single Doctor and companion does not imply that I don't like them.
