This is amazing! I love the Planets, and one of my goals is to see all of them performed live. As a high school trombone player, these pieces amaze me! :D
@ReblBorn he was probably correlating the phrasing and composition of the music to the emotional feel of the planets spin cycles and vibratory rates since theres a diatonic major note that correlates for each, heavily into astrology probably and would write the music on days where the planets would have major conjunctions and synods, who knows though im probably overthinking
First time I listen to Gustav Holst. I ended up here because I was listening to King Crimson`s song "The devil`s triangle" which was based on the theme "Mars" by Gustav as well. I`m at work at the moment, and damn, I`ve been so concentrated on what im doing. Nice music by Gustav. I`m a new fan
Im doing a powerpoint presentation on Neptune for science class. I chose Neptune as my topic just because i love this song. Im even going to have it playing in the background of the powerpoint.
This is the first time i've listened to the planets the whole way through, and i've got to say it's amazing. I really like Mars and Jupiter. This has given me new found respect for Holst and his work.
@psychicbyinternet well it is an ocean planet, ruled by poseidon. it works with the pineal gland. neptune also happens to be one of my favorite nasa voyager recordings
