I love this video. I've been doing jingle for a long time now. And i come from a small tribe where we don't get to sidestep as much. I love seeing sidestep. Great video

i have some old school jingle vids on VHS that i'm tryin to get on here. back then everything was a lot more subdued and more respectful and i'm only talkin early 90's at the earliest.

these days i find that everything is too flashy - i was appalled when i saw a few jinglers twirl in a full circle!

but there are a lot of beautiful dancers out there don't get me wrong!

Common mistake chip. Ive been a singer most of my life and seen many drums make the same mistake. The easy way you can tell the difference between the two is the sidestep or round dance for jingle has a down beat mid way through each push-up to drop loudness of the beat before the four honor beats. The double beat if sung correct don't. The sidestep is also to have a two beat tail to end the song. Cool to see the younger gen. singing and dancing and keeping things going keep it up!

I think that looks awesome. They shoudl do that at pow wow today. Now everyone is all over theplace and weaving all over like there is no direction to the way they dance..just my opinion. I think It loks better:)

Hey Chip! There are many beats in the country, foes to show you have much to learn. Rememeber there was a lot more before pow-wows came to be. The round dance for Jingle comes from the Ogima Lodge, a ranking in the Mide Society. Learn your cultural history, the real stuff.

this is good video - side steppin' the OLE WAY. Notice how NO ONE PASSED EACH OTHER - that's the way it's supposed to be!!! But this teaching is never told, especially to the younger jingle dancers.
