Preparing bobbins for lace making

Thank you for this video. I've been trying to figure out the double hitch from drawings in books, and the thread wasn't unwinding like it should. It's easier to see a person do it. Maybe I won't get such a headache after making an inch of tape, and watching my bobbins fall off the edge of the pillow.

@TheCaverNsMyth Thank you for the thumbs up! Actually I just bought a new digicam to eventually make some bobbin lace lessons - but I also have a full time job and so it might take quite some time until those will be ready to show.

@hoyan120 Glad you like the music - it's an Apple loop that I think comes with iLife (found it on my iMac when I created the video using iMovie).

Excellent video! The part about how to shorten the thread was especially helpful.  Re-learning the craft after being away from it for 12 years...forgot all the little tricks that make it easier...like winding the bobbins clockwise. Thanks!

It's pretty much a simple knot, in which you insert your bobbin. The bobbin prevents the knot from tightening any further.
