Short sword with 10 fire, 10 lightning, 10 cold, drain health 10, poison weakness 10, and your choice of soul trap 1 second or paralysis 1 second. Personally I like paralysis because if you keep hitting them they can't get up. Or just use the sword from the shivering isles that switches between fire and ice on a day/night cycle.

Many things have a resistance or immunity to frost, and few thins have a weakness to it. Lightning is better, since every daedra except the storm atronach has a weakness, and the storm atronach is the only creature with a resistance to it(to my knowledge). The max level nerveshatter, charged or not, is the best weapon in the game that doesn't have a recurring upkeep cost(soul gems, arrows), since you can repair it yourself.

ok well when its not charged Umra is much better. If yougot shivering isles and/or knights of the nine the sword of the crusader will be the same good and dawnfang too(if you get it on level 23+). And Shadowrend is much better (if you get it level 23+). But if you haven't the shivering isles or nights of the nine then is goldrbrand the best weapon if it is magickaly charged.

Goldbrand isn't the best weapon in the game. Umbra has the highest base dmg in the game (for swords only).Mehrunes razor or dawnfang are better but u need to install mehrunes razor and shivering isles. U can enchant a weapon with weakness to magic,weakness to element and weakness to element and the dmg will multiply somehow.

this weapon is stronger than umbra .there is a quest in the small village with all the ships in it its been awhile so i dont remember all the names. There is a quest there that a store keeps getting broken into and the owner has you stay the night there or something of the sort to ambush them there will be 3 men if you kill them all with out using magic one of them will drop a claymore, if you insert one of the stones from oblivion it does 33 damage, and whatever power you put into it
