Damn, you loathe this movie as much as I loathe Transformers 2. I mean, I thought this was medicore at best. Superman/Batman: Apocalypse is the one DC Universe movie I think truly sucks.

it only gets good in the end..when she fights the cheetha..they should of made the movie based on that....in all the art animation sucked! i mean why dose batman have a movie with various animators..DC is gay. I wish thye would animate wonder woman in a better way.

The reason Ares spoke like that was to build up dramatic effect and to make him look all cool and ethereal, and no I dunno what it means.

Dude, this has got to be my favorite DC animated movie they released, I agree the movie LEFT OUT peaceable aspects of Amazon's culture and made them too much like Spartans (not to mention she mercilessly KILLED Ares+son). But beyond those two "philosophy holes," I'm not convinced this was a poorly done movie overall. Have you read "Gods and Mortals"?

Amazons have been technologically capable since the Golden Age.

I'm under the impression your disliked for the character hampered your enjoyment.

You can't remove the peaceful aspects of the amazons and then have the amazons keep talking about peace and how much better they are then men.

Certainly, buts like the only problem I can find with it.

Kinda like Owlman's proven BS philosophy in the new Justice League movie.

I think the movie itself was good enough in spite of the holes.

Like, in "Gods and Mortals" there was some division amongst the Amazons should've reacted to their enslavement.

Seems to have been glossed over in favor of: "Open with epic battle that challenge peoples assumption of this movie being girly."

@DannyPhantomBeast It's the WHOLE POINT OF THE MOVIE and Wonder Woman's character. You can't just gloss over a HUGE hole like that.

It's not the same since he made sense.

Also, In Gail Simone's run, she established that she'll kill to protect who she loves, and when she's in a war.

Nobody raised an eyebrow when she killed mythical creatures. It's extra-ironic when you consider that she is a mythical creature....

But never for revenge. She said she'll never kill for revenge.

What would be APPROPRIATE usage of their military force in keeping with their desire for peace?

She didn't kill any humans, and I can appreciate the metaphor of KILLING THE GOD OF WAR

The warriors for peace contradiction is a problem w/ the DC Amazons mythos in general. I don't like the way it's usually handed. It would be more interesting if:

Amazon culture had evolved from a warrior culture to something like the shoalin monks who use martial arts for discipline & self defense, but try to minimize harm.

Amazons were just war-like & Wonder Woman was the only peaceful one or vice versa.

Amazons were less about peace & more about promoting a code of ethics as a warrior.

Also Bruce Timm has gone on a record of saying that the interpretation of WW and the amazons being peaceful yet strong warriors is uninteresting and boring. That's why this interpretation of Wonder Woman is a lot like punching thug she was in JLU. Bruce Timm even said me at comic con that they wanted to create an action packed bloody film instead of focusing on how Diana is a symbol of peace, love, and stength.

The guy who wrote the script Michael Jelenic has admitted of never reading a WW comic ever. WW comics (well most of them) are far from like this.

actually ive never read wonder woman before but i did in fact enjoy this movie, its a matter of taste, i liked the voice acting and when you mention they talk like enlightened beings but they only kill and its contradictory, well they´re amazons and amazonsare supposed to be like that arent they? well at least ive always pictured them like that. I guess its a matter of taste cause i actually enjoyed this movie very much
