  • what a fantastic record why so few hits ....should be in the millions xxxxxxxxxxlove it

  • Brenda, Brenda, Brenda......She can still make me "shiver".

  • Wow I love this song

  • Brenda! Brenda! Brenda! The beauty that is Brenda Holloway and her voice is timeless, ageless, forever. When I first saw this clip as it originally aired on TV, I couldn't catch my breath--it was so wonderful and overwhelming. Just like she always was. So deeply talented. And gorgeous in every way. I just hope she knows the happiness that she brought--and continues to bring--with her exceptional self and voice. And her terrific recordings that I play over and over and over and . . .

  • Better then Led Zeppelin!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHOA! Incredible performance. Yeah, this woman had too much chops for Gordy. I've always placed her on a higher tier than most of Motown. Love her.

  • GOD, SHE IS STILL SO BEAUTIFUL AND VOICE OF AN ANGEL!

LOVED AND STILL LOVE THIS SONG!!

    Back Ground Singers are Hot

  • I can tell this women fears the LORD,look how good she looks, not even a wrinkle on her face and that wonderful voice seems to have gotten stronger! Man what a talented woman,Gordy let his relationship with Diana over shadow a lot of female talent at Motown, it's wonderful that we recognize it, You Go Girl!

  • My lord! she still looks GOOD.

  • She is still so beautiful and her voice is so wonderful and warm.

  • we've lost alot of Motown artists over the years, thank god Brenda is still with us, she still sounds great to this day

  • The Great Brenda Holloway is singing her 1964 hit "Every Lit Bit Hurts" in 2005. She hasn't lost anything in 41 years. She is an incredible Motown treasure. She is probably the most talented and least publicized artist in the Motown family.

  • I love this performance!!

  • This lady got some soul....where was she performing? Some of the musicians look familiar. Black dont crack....she has absolutely no wrinkles. Go Ms Holloway...

  • I can you still look & sound good after all these years??? WOW!!!

  • @mfalmekali You are 100% correct, one fine singing sister !! " Blue light in the basement back in the day "

  • She's still got it! And looks great too!

  • Song still gives me the chills. Definitely didn't get her due! She sounds great and looks good. I'm going to google her to she if she's performing any where near me.

  • 41 years has not dissolved the essence of soul that she has in her voice.

Still a stunning looking woman as well!

  • holly cow...she hasn't lost a thing. great pipes.

  • BRENDA HOLLOWAY ROCKS!!! Love you Brenda, you're SO AWESOME!!! Keep shining! Your friend, Anna Fisher

  • Miss Holloway can STILL throw down!!! I love my Motown girls.

  • beautiful!

  • That is a good lookin woman!

  • this song sounds very much like the 45. Brenda hasn't lost her touch

  • I agree, Brenda didn't get the attention she deserved at Motown.

  • One of the best R&B songs ever/ Brenda sings this!!! Listen to the 45, which I have.

  • and then break into Marvin's 'Distant Lover'...this woman is awesome!

  • This woman is a national treasure

  • I hate that I find out about the originals by chance. Here I was thinking it was Alicia's song. Now I get the old school theme of her video.

  • Brenda Holloway is fine. In '64 she was fine. She just got finer, oh my God. God is so good. Sounds fantastic too. Good Lord. I'm in shock.

  • Oh wow, so true...Brenda is so awesome!! What a beautiful lady and a beautiful performance!

  • Beautiful !

  • Oh! My GOD...Dang....I absolutely feel that Brenda is an even Better singer now than in the 60's and God knows she was great then. Amazing woman!! You go girl and you go great!!!

  • Not only can she still sing but LIVE YET ! go Brenda, P.S. and still beautiful........

  • she got a booty

  • super. my time. great lady. elegant as always. noticed a couple of the funk brothers. jack ashford and joe hunter, play it brothers

  • I am blown away. She is selling the song for all it is worth!!!!!!!!

  • I saw Brenda Holloway in the 60s. She was an icon well before Diana Ross. She was the Diana Ross of the 60's. She wasn't well publicized, or managed, but she was so very good. As she is now. She has to be going on towards 70. Late 60's. She looks beautiful. You go girl!!!!! I was a teenager and she was older than me back then, in her 20's probably, in the late 60's. Do the math....

  • AMAZING!!!!! I'm just blown away...first by the songs, secondly by how amazing she looks!

  • OMG, how old is this lady? She looks like she is 40! I know she is much older because she was grown in 1964 when she made this song! She looks great!

  • On this video she past 60 years old she was older than me in 2005 i was 59

  • "Superb ;what a Vibe, ,a voice to mezmerize , so Smooth... Thankyou...

  • I just love how she puts the vocal pyrotechnics in all the right places...she really "takes this song to church" great!

This is a woman who has owned this song for years...yet how many singers do you know of where you can say, "They're doing it now better than they did 45 years ago"...?

    Brenda Holloway is smokin!

Maybe my favorite female singer of all time...right up there with Aretha, Ella Fitzgerald, and the young Martha Reeves.

  • Lord have mercy she still a brick house I don't think that's no botox

  • she still sounds the same

  • very good tone quality. Skin tone also superb, I would love to know the secret of looking that fabulous in the golden years.

  • absolutely superb singer the most underrated motown vocalist of all time. Brenda i salute you, thank you.

  • Great! She looks and sounds lovely. And the background vocals are wonderful.

  • More Beautiful than I remembered, if thats possible, Gives it all so beautiful.

  • A flawless performance. Love this.

  • Wow! She looks Good!!!

    And sounds great!!

  • This lady still has it. Still think "Sad Song" was the best thing she ever did though.

    Mike Rossiter UK

  • Love brenda holloway she Owns this song lol in a funny way she sorta reminds me of leona lewis looks and vocaly ?? is it just me ?? lol

  • I agree with the looks thing. Had never thought of it til u said it. Brenda; a lovely woman and singer--and truly under-rated.

  • Oh my goodness. I just took a close look at her--LOOK AT THAT SKIN!!!!!!! She's two years older than me...wow;

    lol

  • someone covered this song, i forgot her name, all i know that she is popular

    can somebody help me out?

  • that should be alicia keys...

  • thanks

  • still gorgeous, still has a voice

  • Wonderful!

  • Truly an original! Damn Berry Gordy should've paid her more attention instead of fucking Diana Ross.

  • When Brenda Holloway was on the rise at Motown,The Supremes had their first No# 1 hit "Where Did Our Love Go?" They were on Dick Clarks Carvan Tour" with Brenda Holloway,When their song went to No# 1 Berry Gordy pulled them off the tour,to get them back in the studio. Berry forcus on The Supremes,Brenda got left behind like a lot of the other Motown acts.

  • Dick Clark wanted Brenda for the Caravan Of Stars Tour yet Berry Gordy would only agree to it if Dick also booked the Supremes (this was prior to Where Did Our Love Go being released). Dick didn't want the Supremes but went along w/the agreement. Motown made sure WDOLG was sent to every radio station in every town the tour hit - that's how it became a hit. So, the Supremes have Brenda & Dick to thank for launching their string of #1 hits (BTW, this info came right from Gordy's autobiography).

  • Motown should have promoted her MUCH better

  • did you know alicia keys did a cover of this song.

  • I like this version better then i liked the first.

  • Oh my, she's blowing her old one apart right at the end! Wow oh wow, she's just tearing me to pieces with this! Incredible! Wooooooooo!

  • Does any one know who are the bkgrd singers name?? What is up with Patrice Holloway, her sister who is an impressive vocalist in her own right

  • Sadly, Pat passed away several years ago.

  • She died 10-01-06

  • Wow.....

I saw Brenda at the Brooklyn Fox back in the sixties. The years have done her well. She is as hot as ever.

    Thanks for this great post.

  • I am sooo glad I am Brenda Holloway-olic ,this is amazing one the best post on youtube ever...she is flawess

  • I know what you mean! WOWOWOWOWOW!!

  • Why did Motown let her talent go to waste? They should have done a lot more with her.

  • she's got the same hair style Mary Wells once had, and it looks good on her just as it did Mary

  • DAMN she is SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Look at some of her older pics on google. Even more so, then!

  • great track

  • I love the way she breaks into Distant Lover, to bad her and Marvin never recorded together, that would have been awsome to have a Marvin Gaye & Brenda Holloway record

  • Brenda' I can watch this video forever and never get tired of it' OH" how I long for you

  • You better believe she still has the goods !!!

  • This woman, Brenda Holloway, never cease to amaze me. I love her voice now, as much as i did when i first heard her in the 60s. She actually sounds better. More expression and energy. I like the way she does it.

  • Sensational - she sounds even better than in the 60's!!!

  • DAMN she tore this up!!! YOU BETTA SANG GIRL!!! A legend!!!

  • This might be one of the greatest songs ever, and every young soul singer has much to learn from Brenda and a few others of her generation. Soul is not about vocal gymnastics and singing hundreds of notes in one breath, it's about finding that part of you and your experiences that gives you a deep personal connection to the song, and then putting the listener in that same place because they have been there too.

  • Break it down!

  • Tremendous!

  • Bankman, thank you so much for this! She looks awesome. I had not seen a latter-day video of her.

  • I love Brenda,she does`nt know how to make a bad record.

    djdeitch(Dave)
