The Beltre signing was arguably the best signing of the 2009-2010 offseason. However, I'm not sure if the Sox should hold onto him in the next few years or let him go into free agency. Does anyone know if he's projected to be a Type A or B (or neither) free agent?
@EeVvAaNn3 I think it's type A, but I'm not sure, signing him wouldn't be such a great idea, he's gonna want big money and long contract, and he hasn't lived up to his big contracts in the past, granted in one of worst hitters parks, yet they don't have a 3B waiting in the minors and Youk isn't getting younger, soon he won't be ablet to make the swithc to third. Tough decision for Theo this off season
@EeVvAaNn3 yeah, I see your point, but the BBWA looked past W-L last year, it shouldn't have much of a say in who wins, if any, I also don't think K's are much of an important stat, unless it's something nuts and they can still go deep into games, a pitcher can be dominate and not be a strikeout pitcher
I disagree about K's not being much of an important stat. K's are guaranteed outs, and not too many guys with low K/9 rates (compared to the league averages) have much success. If they do, it's because of things like them being sinker ball pitchers.
I'm not saying W-L should be completely dismissed. It's okay to look at it if you take other factors into account (run support, bullpen support, etc.)
to bad we suk this year

Ahh.
One thing's for sure: the FA market for 3rd basemen isn't exactly exciting.

His ERA is nice, but he shouldn't win. IP.
It SHOULD go to Felix. But it probably won't because the voters are usually too stupid to look past W-L.
