Its an alright game for the kiddos out there that have only played NFS before.....but for anybody that has been playing sims for a decade or so, will think F3 was actually a step back rather than any improvement over F2

I've played every NFS since Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2 (along with a couple others), and F3 is easily the best sim on a console... This is the first racing game where the tuning actual effected the car realistically (and you could check with telemetry). No more setting your ARBs to 1 and 40 in order to drift for example.
PC are a whole different issue. Games like rFactor are real sims.
I got a 360 because i think it's the most fun, personally. I thoroughly enjoy this game, regardless of the hardware it runs on or whatever else. I still enjoy mario kart 64 and goldeneye and super smash, for that matter.

Ive seen that. Other companies are designing those tvs too. One company owned by MS has been working on this for a few years now. As well as many other companies. Its actually nothing new. Those Tvs are supposed to hit the market in the next few years.

Games on 360 can also do 1080p. (And HD surround sound) There are very few games that actually support a true 1080p resolution on any console. Most of PS3 games (Like 360 games) are just upscaled. And who cares about Blu-ray. I can just download full 1080p movies on my PC then stream them to either of my consoles. blu-ray would only be good if it was cost effective, but it's not.

Well, the 360 DOES have an HDMI port, which allows upscaling to 1080p, just like the PS3. Did you know that the PS3 Cell processor is only a little more powerful than the 360 processor? But the 360 has a far superior GPU. (Go to any book store, in the computer section, and read up on the books from the developers of both the cell processor and the 360 processor. They are from the same company.
At least read the hardware specs before you try to make comments like that.

i downloaded he demo for gt5 time trial and looks nothing new to me.boring as usual.i bought forz3 today i played the demo at the store and was very fun.i will tell you tomorrow how it plays and my opinion.

Le mans isn't a type of car. F3 has "nascar, super cars, classic cars, muscle cars and normal cars." How is GT5 better again?

It's not the fact that you have to tune the 1000 cars available in GT5. Its the fact that you HAVE THE OPTION to tune any of those 1000 cars.
And then there's the fact it will have Dyanmic weather, day/night cycle, LICENSED Nascar and Rally... All running with twice the cars on the track as F3 at twice the resolution. So explain, How is Forza 3 Better again?
I'm not hating on Forza's case; as it stands it is the best sim out now. But it's a futile effort to justify it being better than GT.
@FoxhoundJay Really we all know why GT is being delayed...theyre looking over forza and seeing what they missed and what has to be added, and we all still know that you wont be able to paint cars and I've only EVER seen one of GT5's cars crashed, the widebody G37. And honestly its nice cars are more detailed, but theyre the wrong cars, the have a couple decent cars on the list and then you see things like a daihatsu....seriously? I always hated the starter cars in GT.
Nearly every car you call "decent" in Forza 3 is most assuredly in GT5. Does Forza have cars from Spyker, Citroen, De Lorean, FPV? Does it have Rally Cars, Tuning company cars, or even Concept cars? Nope. To say GT doesn't have decent cars is pure idiocy. You had to buy the GTR-R35 in F3...come on bro.
Second, I admit PD may have gone back to work on damage, but they're also working on dynamic weather, day/night cycle... polishing animations, tracks and minute details.

Oh really there's Rally courses in Forza 3? Rally di Positano is not a rally track. If it is, then the Amalfi coast and Eiger Nordwand are rally tracks as well. Tuning a Impreza WRX STI to 300bhp and adding liveries to make it look like Ken Block's WRX does not make it a rally car. GT5 has actually licensed cars from WRC.
FM3 has 1 citroen car, no De lorean. GT has many times more tuning companies, including mines, Denso, Tom's, HKS, spoon, mugen, RUF, NISMO, etc...
@FoxhoundJay We dont just have subi's but im not gonna sit and list the cars, u can go through the list yourself. And Forza has HKS tuned car, Mugen tuned cars, Mines tuned cars...and more but like I said I wont list it, you go look for yourself.
I'm not going to look it up, but I know having played the game there's only 1 HKS (the CT230) like 1 mugen and 1 Mine's car(s). I understand you don't want to go out your way to list the few other cars you claim there to be, but regardless, you couldn't. Because FM3 doesn't have those cars.

@FoxhoundJay Second, how will GT5 have twice the resolution? Even if it ran at 1080P native (which it wont), 1080P still isn't twice the resolution of 720P. It's only 30% more, not 100% more. GT5 will run at 720P, and upscaled to 1080P, like most games. Neither console can handle 1080P with high level of detail, and high frame rate. Not even the cell processor can do that. Maybe more textures/lighting/effects, but that's about it.

Even then, PS3 will not run at 1080P, it would not be able to handle the game at 1080P. Most games for PS3 run at 720P native anyway, upscaled to 1080P, not true 1080P resolution.

The game does run at native 1080, just not native 1920x1080. regardless, even if it didn't, the engine powering GT5 is far more advanced than any other racer.

Apparently, you talk so highly about GT5 as being better than Forza 3. Each car in forza 3 is tested for max speed, etc. 400 cars was already a lot of work. Just look at the video how they did the vulgatti veron. Those are to the spec sims, not approximations.
Also, you mentioned that they will add weather and so on. They would need to test how each car handles in different weather conditions.

Yet Gran Turismo is so highly regarded by auto-manufacturers that they've been asked to help design their cars, (Nissan, Citroen) and even unveil new cars (Ferrari California, for one). I already bought Forza3 it & it's pretty good. A few of the tracks are on GT5 level graphics if not better (not including in car graphics), but I know GT5 is good, u don't have to tell me dumbass fan boy (i play both systems).

no , i think hes even being nice about nfs shift , i tried the demo yesterday and it s SHIT , at the start the car isnt in 1st gear you have to put it in first gear , why ??? and i cant take any corners without sliding , i approach the corner , brake , steer in , and accelerate out , the way the cars handle are horrible , and the fact that they actually want you to drive ''agressive'' makes it even worse , the game doesnt know what it wants , simulation or arcade !
my godfather is a pro racer and he said is just like shift so in order for u to get the simulation get your ass off the couch and start out with karts and build your way up!!! Its not that simple but the truth is that you get famous for being dirty or being respectful.
shift is a mix of arcade and simulation , forza is fully simulation , need for speed has always been arcade , its is actaully a classic amongst arcade racers , hotpursuit , you should let your godfather try forza 3 wtih a steering wheel !

Games on 360 can also do 1080p. (And HD surround sound) There are very few games that actually support a true 1080p resolution on any console. Most of PS3 games (Like 360 games) are just upscaled. And who cares about Blu-ray. I can just download full 1080p movies on my PC then stream them to either of my consoles. blu-ray would only be good if it was cost effective, but it's not.

Well, the 360 DOES have an HDMI port, which allows upscaling to 1080p, just like the PS3. Did you know that the PS3 Cell processor is only a little more powerful than the 360 processor? But the 360 has a far superior GPU. (Go to any book store, in the computer section, and read up on the books from the developers of both the cell processor and the 360 processor. They are from the same company.
At least read the hardware specs before you try to make comments like that.

Probably around 30. Maximum.
Suddenly it seems that it was completely pointless to buy a game for those other 770. Even if you used 100 (which would be impossible because of the time it would take just to tune them, let alone race them) you are still wasting 85% of the cars.
Le mans isn't a type of car. F3 has "nascar, super cars, classic cars, muscle cars and normal cars." How is GT5 better again?

It's not the fact that you have to tune the 1000 cars available in GT5. Its the fact that you HAVE THE OPTION to tune any of those 1000 cars.
And then there's the fact it will have Dyanmic weather, day/night cycle, LICENSED Nascar and Rally... All running with twice the cars on the track as F3 at twice the resolution. So explain, How is Forza 3 Better again?
I'm not hating on Forza's case; as it stands it is the best sim out now. But it's a futile effort to justify it being better than GT.

And honestly its nice cars are more detailed, but theyre the wrong cars, the have a couple decent cars on the list and then you see things like a daihatsu....seriously? I always hated the starter cars in GT.

Second, I admit PD may have gone back to work on damage, but they're also working on dynamic weather, day/night cycle... polishing animations, tracks and minute details.

Oh really there's Rally courses in Forza 3? Rally di Positano is not a rally track. If it is, then the Amalfi coast and Eiger Nordwand are rally tracks as well. Tuning a Impreza WRX STI to 300bhp and adding liveries to make it look like Ken Block's WRX does not make it a rally car. GT5 has actually licensed cars from WRC.
FM3 has 1 citroen car, no De lorean. GT has many times more tuning companies, including mines, Denso, Tom's, HKS, spoon, mugen, RUF, NISMO, etc...

@FoxhoundJay Second, how will GT5 have twice the resolution? Even if it ran at 1080P native (which it wont), 1080P still isn't twice the resolution of 720P. It's only 30% more, not 100% more. GT5 will run at 720P, and upscaled to 1080P, like most games. Neither console can handle 1080P with high level of detail, and high frame rate. Not even the cell processor can do that. Maybe more textures/lighting/effects, but that's about it.

Even then, PS3 will not run at 1080P, it would not be able to handle the game at 1080P. Most games for PS3 run at 720P native anyway, upscaled to 1080P, not true 1080P resolution.

wrong again. Set the PS3 to 720p mode and you get native resolution with 4x multi-sampling anti-aliasing (MSAA). With 1080p, and the framebuffer is set at 1280x1080. That's a 50 per cent resolution increase over 720p mode, with AA dropped to 2x. The RSX scaler THEN kicks in with its horizontal bilinear resize to 1920x1080.
The game does run at native 1080, just not native 1920x1080. regardless, even if it didn't, the engine powering GT5 is far more advanced than any other racer.

Apparently, you talk so highly about GT5 as being better than Forza 3. Each car in forza 3 is tested for max speed, etc. 400 cars was already a lot of work. Just look at the video how they did the vulgatti veron. Those are to the spec sims, not approximations.
Also, you mentioned that they will add weather and so on. They would need to test how each car handles in different weather conditions.

no , i think hes even being nice about nfs shift , i tried the demo yesterday and it s SHIT , at the start the car isnt in 1st gear you have to put it in first gear , why ??? and i cant take any corners without sliding , i approach the corner , brake , steer in , and accelerate out , the way the cars handle are horrible , and the fact that they actually want you to drive ''agressive'' makes it even worse , the game doesnt know what it wants , simulation or arcade !

my godfather is a pro racer and he said is just like shift so in order for u to get the simulation get your ass off the couch and start out with karts and build your way up!!! Its not that simple but the truth is that you get famous for being dirty or being respectful.

shift is a mix of arcade and simulation , forza is fully simulation , need for speed has always been arcade , its is actaully a classic amongst arcade racers , hotpursuit , you should let your godfather try forza 3 wtih a steering wheel !
