@goodtimetone And/or because of old age. Remember how long ago this all was. My grandpa was extremely healthy and he died by age 73 (in 1993). Never smoked a cigarette, sniffed or smoked or drank or even injected anything, and he stayed away from the exaggerated 2nd hand smoke (which is still bad, but a little exaggerated). My family line (through him) doesn't inherit any illnesses or diseases like cancers or heart problems, either.

This ad has the same theme as an L&M ad from 1966 I found on the roadode website: they say that last year only one or two people at a certain place smoked L&M's and now more smokers are coming over to the L&M side. So I would date this ad in the mid-1960's.
