You've been playing it 18 years, and not realised that one of the chords is wrong! At the start It goes G C Em A G C *A* D I think you played an F. It's awesome by the way! (apart from that)

@ShrubScotland I must admit I get equally annoyed when I hear "wrong" chords played in covers out of laziness to learn it correctly. However I don't always base my covers on the album versions of songs, and if you listen to a few live versions of DLS you may find that TMBG also play an F (or at least an F in the bass). Don't quote me but check the 1994 Live In NYC version, it is one of my favourites.
