  • thanks for this tutrorial (i think you should remove the bit with conversion though. It's bad enough waiting for your on video lol)

  • This was JUST what I needed starting to work with virtual dub today... thanks am million! :)

  • Thanks

  • you know there the filter and theres size, only put there the resolution u want and its done, takes less than a minute...

  • To the uploader of this video: when I try to drag the video into the program (at 0:33), it keeps saying: "MPEG-1 video stream contains an invalid frame rate (0)." and it won't let me put the video in. Please help me out??

  • @DrunkleShane ... yeah i noticed this also..seems this program doesnt work with Mpeg files ,and it seems to want to output everything to an AVI file ...which means (from what i can figure out) if you have a mpeg video ..your screwed ...i even downloaded a version of VIRTUAL DUB'' MOD'' for MPEG ,BUT THE DARN THING STILL WANTS TO CONVERT or export it as a AVI file..which means you would have to reconvert the whole movie from AVI back to MPEG 1 or 2 (using some other program )

  • how do i get the divx codec INTO virtualdub? because when i click compression divx isnt there!?!?!?!?

  • @KiidJoka just install it :)

  • Here's how Virtual dub works, for a start the reason why the files end up 4 times the size is because it upscales it. Why does it upscale it you ask?... because when converting to 16:9 it doesn't stretch the video, it zooms in. That means you use the top and bottom of the video. Stay away from the software, it's useless.

  • thank You =)

  • thanks a lot

a really simply and useful tutorial ;)

  • i will have to give this a look great tutorial :)

  • oh never mind, i just figured it out. i clicked the wrong button when i compressed it. it works now. but the quality isn't great. will it be better once it's saved? and also, is there any way i could resize a lot of files at the same time?

  • it says "video compression error. the source image format is not acceptable. error code -2" when i try to save the file. help?

  • great vid

  • just one more question... what happens if i dont compress the vid???

  • Hey I'm repying to both of your comments,

I included the link to the DivX compressor in the video discription (its free).

If you don't compress your video it will still work, except the file itself is going to be a lot bigger.
