To the uploader of this video: when I try to drag the video into the program (at 0:33), it keeps saying: "MPEG-1 video stream contains an invalid frame rate (0)." and it won't let me put the video in. Please help me out??
@DrunkleShane ... yeah i noticed this also..seems this program doesnt work with Mpeg files ,and it seems to want to output everything to an AVI file ...which means (from what i can figure out) if you have a mpeg video ..your screwed ...i even downloaded a version of VIRTUAL DUB'' MOD'' for MPEG ,BUT THE DARN THING STILL WANTS TO CONVERT or export it as a AVI file..which means you would have to reconvert the whole movie from AVI back to MPEG 1 or 2 (using some other program )
Great but I do not have the divx compression option and for some reason once its saved the sound works for 1 second then disapeers and suddenly the video seems very slow... terrible.
thank you so much man! check out the clip i changed, my camera is only 480p and it looks great now. its widescreen and it doesn't even look like its been stretched!
Here's how Virtual dub works, for a start the reason why the files end up 4 times the size is because it upscales it. Why does it upscale it you ask?... because when converting to 16:9 it doesn't stretch the video, it zooms in. That means you use the top and bottom of the video. Stay away from the software, it's useless.
oh never mind, i just figured it out. i clicked the wrong button when i compressed it. it works now. but the quality isn't great. will it be better once it's saved? and also, is there any way i could resize a lot of files at the same time?
Thank you so much Peter. I was needed exactly this advice. waaaaaaaaaaauuuu..my video is now 16:9 . i start project with 16:9 seting in moviemaker bud has to paste a bit of other video which was in 4:3 and the transition between them was not accurate. now everything is smoooooooth like baby face:-))
If anybody is experiencing problems doing this using the divx codec you will get an error hen saving.Try the microsoft codec or other that dont give you error save avi file and DONE
Hi!! thansks for the tutorials they are really good!! but i dont have divix codec please tell me were to get it and were to install it in order to have it in the video/compression option... please reply to my comment... thanks
thanks for this tutrorial (i think you should remove the bit with conversion though. It's bad enough waiting for your on video lol)

just one more question... what happens if i dont compress the vid???
jcorona25 3 years ago
Hey I'm repying to both of your comments,
I included the link to the DivX compressor in the video discription (its free).
If you don't compress your video it will still work, except the file itself is going to be a lot bigger.
