Great video! Just to let everyone know, the StarSan foam is a yeast nutrient. My airlocks go nuts when I leave some foam in there. But it is alarming to add wort to it. Great info about your late addition of yeast to the failed batches. I get that question all the time. And I LOL'd when that stuff fell behind you. Cheers Tom.
Good video and good info for new brewers. I have always used oxyclean free also. Just placed an order with brewmasters warehouse and ordered the 4 pound container of PBW for $20 just to give it a try.
If you want to brew in summer, put a tee shirt over your carboy and place it in a bathtub, trashcan, kiddy pool. The water will wick up the tee shirt and keep you within ale fermentaion range...AC works great too..
StarSan! easy to use...your a big tough guy....dont be afraid of sterile bubbles (thats wimpy)....besides, thats how you know its working...iodine stains...'nuff said. Hey if you are ever in CO lets brew. Oxy is fine, I prefer PBW and purchases a gallon of it for $20 online.
@tomroeder look at the williams brewing website, I ordered the 4lb container of it last year the container is huge bout as big as a growler so I guess its more like a half gallon for $20 (part number is A42)....next time I'm gonna order the big one for $37 it'll last forever.....not likely to run out of PBW for a very long time...if you buy the standard size ($15 at my brew store for the 1lb size) you will want part number A41 $6.90 at williams...bout 1/2 price
@srtsmokebreak Just doing my part...thanks for watching!
