This was a terrible movie. Probably not as bad as Captain America is going to be but still not what it should have been. It seemed like DC didn't realize what they were competing against at the time this was released: Thor, First Class, Captain Douchebag (only because he's being played by Chris Evans). Hal Jordan didn't even seem like Hal Jordan. He seemed like Ryan Reynolds in a Green Lantern suit. That's what they should've called the movie instead of lying to me.

This movie was a rush job, and thats coming from a marvel/dc fan who only knew the basics of the green lantern. Killawog was in it for like 5 mins sinestro was in it for a little more then that and it just seemed like they wanted to just make it real quick and get it over with. I liked the green hornet better.

@year2kill2010 LOL you are right in terms of comparison to the Dark Knight, nowhere even in the same league. i guess from all of the critic reviews I expected it to be the worst movie I had seen in a long time (again, my bar was a bit low) but it wasn't (ever see "Jennifer's Body"?). The GL movie had so much potential but they made it like a comedy, light-hearted while DK was more serious, gritty..they should have followed suit

All i know is chris should be directing movies and not these other clowns who rush or mess up movies. I mean the green hornet beat out the green lantern imo. Marvel wins in terms of movies for the summer of 2011. Just waiting for cap america.

DC Comics is bringing back what it means to be a " Super-Hero " Not an Anti-Hero. Whlie Marvel focuses on characters who are hailed as heroes because of their powers. DC Stands their ground with being a hero means doing good because its the right thing to do Stepping up when no one else will , and in Green Lanterns shoes. . .having greatness thrown at his feet , taking that Greatness and accepting it as his stepping stone to a better life.

In the original comics green lantern was white. In the cartoons he is portrayed either as black or white. It's not raceism, they probably just chose to go with the original comics. Personally I think the movie looks cool and would have looked cool with a white guy or a black guy.

If you're willing to ignore all the brain dead critics that judged this movie based on their zero knowledge of the Green Lantern mythos then you have a great time.
