I don't think that it is the band that is sounding bad it is the sound engineer at the venue and the recording. This sounds like it was recorded from microphones placed around the stage (similar to what the Greatful Dead did). Recording straight from the soundboard and placing three condensers around the sides and back of the crowd would make the whole thing sound better. Sorry I am a sound dork
