  • Fabulous! Us Aussies often have a laugh at these shows...they're sooo dated and really....none of us are like that. We're just the same as the Brits, yanks, europeans....etc.... We have a chuckle at the sounds skippy made too!! RIP skippy.

  • I was a young teenager at the time of broadcasting the series. I liked the stories and wished I could live overthere. Needless to say I really had a crush on Clancy!

She and later on Nastassja Kinski (in Tess and Cat People) were my favourite blondies.

  • How exactly is it possible for Australians to lose their accent then? The US is a different case since there are many different ethnic groups here. Is the demographic in Australia so diverse that it's impossible to maintain an English accent?

  • @ttiiyy Australians don't have accents. We all sound like the British...more or less. lol

  • The show wasn't just male-dominated. It was dominated by white, ugly, gormless, pasty, Gad-awful nonces with the most unbearable accents... Well, Australians, at any rate...

  • Although my lust was directed at the kangaroo, my love in "Skippy" was directed at Clancy. No wonder Banjo Paterson wrote a poem about her.

  • Wasnt she married to Alvin Stardust???

  • @mrsgritoli1 Yes, she was. And her friend Derek Nimmo kept calling him Captain Starburst!

  • Wow - how cool is this ? I've been in love with Liza since I was a teenager some (ahem) 1/4 of a decade ago. (you're my secret affliction even to this day).

    Great to see you again.

  • she was a hot babe 4 sure

  • God how I love Liza Goddard... she was so beautiful..
