In short sylvanas isn't like any current elf. She is closer to a deathknight at this point in the game. Turned banshee. Breaking the lich knigs will, Repossessing her own body. Now she draws on necrotic energy so assuming Elf eye color changes given the magic they are expossed to. Red isn't impossible (and a dev choice). Also she would have been a high elf, not a blood elf. (high elfs are ex highborne twice removed. blood elves are high elves hooked on fel crack , no so much anymore.)

I mean, I am hugely happy Sylvanas finally got a new model since it always bothered me that she looked like a night elf (she was Ranger-General of the High Elves FFS)... but yeah, the casting animation was much more graceful as a night elf. Still, better this way.

Look, They were named blood elves after their fallen kin. Some High Elves stayed the same because they were too far away from the well. Because they were already feeding off other sources of magic they didn't need the well. Yes some stayed behind and others follow Keal'Thas. If you pay attention to the Burning Crusade lore you would know whats going on most of the time. Yes they do consume the blood of deamons because they never did find a power source and had to use their burning crystals.

Actually, there is a slight difference. Blood Elves consumed the blood of demons, hence the green glow to their eyes; demons were able to quench their thirst for magic - a fix Kael'Thas hoped would work. Obviously, had terrible results.

About the High Elves, there are in truth, High Elves in World of Warcraft. They are in certain places like Eastern Plaguelands, Hinterlands and Azshara. (I'm not 100% sure about all this!)
Yes, in a way. but the high elves arnt in the game yet, the high elves your thinking of are the mutated ones. ie, naga, banshees, and i'm not sure about the hinterlands. :)

No there are some in those places, they are just the same looking as Blood Elves, exxcept they have regualr eyes that dont glow and are blue, instead of glowing green eyes. There is a high elf in Stormwind Mage Tower and one on the docks to Darnassus from Darkshore.

She really is a tragic character if you know or read the lore. It is very interesting, yet some of the things that have happened to her make her one of the most interesting characters in the game.
Oh my God... Why does every leader have to be in either t7 armor or some other fancy shiny armor? Give her the same armor, but on a b-elf and with the b-elf banshee face.
Good to know they finally corrected her model, but this casting animation doesn't look nearly as cool as the NE one did for that scene. =( The NE animation had more of a "raptured" feel to it. This looks more like she's too actively focusing on the casting rather than the song.

She is a High Elf. She was th head hunress of quel'thas, til she was murdered by Prince Arhas and was turned into a banshee. She tried and treid again to get back at Arthas but failed. Now she is the leader of the Forsaken.

Look, They were named blood elves after their fallen kin. Some High Elves stayed the same because they were too far away from the well. Because they were already feeding off other sources of magic they didn't need the well. Yes some stayed behind and others follow Keal'Thas. If you pay attention to the Burning Crusade lore you would know whats going on most of the time. Yes they do consume the blood of deamons because they never did find a power source and had to use their burning crystals.

High elfs and blood elfs is the same thing really after Arthas had destroyed the sunwell. Kael renamed them blood elfs after the elfs who had fallen in battle

Actually, there is a slight difference. Blood Elves consumed the blood of demons, hence the green glow to their eyes; demons were able to quench their thirst for magic - a fix Kael'Thas hoped would work. Obviously, had terrible results.
True, he had renamed the High Elves after their fallen brethren; however, the High Elves are still aligned with the Alliance (there are some that are still on friendly terms; the lodge in EPL) while the Blood Elves were shunned and joined the Horde. :)

No she was a high elf. She was the Ranger General of Quel'Thalas that led the high elven forces agianst Arthas during the seige of Quel'Thalas. Eventually Arthas killed her and she bacame a banshee. Yes I am a nerd :D!

I liked the old Sylvanas a LOT better, but as we all know the story must continue.
No the less I believe that Blizzard could have done a better job on the new version and kept a little of the old Sylvanas in there.
The moves dont fit the song anny more, to bad ... :( she was my fav. char. with her story in wow.

Followers of Pince Kael'thas Sunstrider? If I remember correctly after the Sunwell exploded he called the High Elves, Blood Elves but some of them stayed in Silvermoon (playable Blood Elves), others followed Kael with Illidan and Vashj (Kael was looking for a new sorce of magic that Illidan promised him).
About the High Elves, there are in truth, High Elves in World of Warcraft. They are in certain places like Eastern Plaguelands, Hinterlands and Azshara. (I'm not 100% sure about all this!)

Yes, in a way. but the high elves arnt in the game yet, the high elves your thinking of are the mutated ones. ie, naga, banshees, and i'm not sure about the hinterlands. :)

There are a few in Eastern Plaguelands, Hinterlands, and Azshara. You can probably tell that they're high elves, if their eyes aren't giving off any green tint. According to lore, the green tint of Blood Elves, came from fel energy they stole from demons.

No there are some in those places, they are just the same looking as Blood Elves, exxcept they have regualr eyes that dont glow and are blue, instead of glowing green eyes. There is a high elf in Stormwind Mage Tower and one on the docks to Darnassus from Darkshore.

Good to know they finally corrected her model, but this casting animation doesn't look nearly as cool as the NE one did for that scene. =( The NE animation had more of a "raptured" feel to it. This looks more like she's too actively focusing on the casting rather than the song.
