Thats exactly how it works. All these companies get in trouble, need cash and then the state bails them out. Same as in the US. The state gets this cash from the SARB, which is paid back with interest. This does 2 things; devaluates the currency and increases the public debt. So now the public, you & me, have to work more for less as our taxes pay this debt, while our public services diminish.
Why would the state choose to use a private organization to get their money if they had the power to print it themselves? Simple; they dont have the power to print it themselves.
Dont get me wrong, I know we cant just print money like Zim, but countries would be able to use a gold/resource based economy like it use to be in the 1800s. We would have been able to do this, were we not subjected to the laws we submitted to under the World Bank and IMF.
Apart from this, like the vid states; our public services such as water, electricity and others have been privatised. Apart from the bail outs the prices of these services are increased also. It is a system aimed at eradicating the middle class.
Power of government; they only appear to be in charge. Even the old apartheid regime. SA have always been under the command of British imperialists. Why would this government be any different?
