Merry Jesus Birthday "Christmas". Not the day He was actually born but the day we celebrate the birth of our Saviour. May God be with you son...and all your PTM buddies.
(Comment part 2/2)Elaborating on the lighting oil, it was used in a menorah that helped light up the temple to help see in the dark to clean it up. The latkes (potato pancakes) are fried in oil and are served with sour cream and applesauce. P.S. The story of hanukkah isn't even in the hebrew bible... It was even debated on being an observed holiday. That would be so cool for you to celebrate Hanukkah PTM! Its fun. I don't really know if Jesus really celebrated Hanukkah...I do celebrate Hanukkah!
@Thwomper101 I was listening to a radio program locally that actually aimed to bring to light what you were just talking about, Thwomper. And I believe somewhere in John chapter 10, and other areas of the gospel, Jesus is said to have visited the Temple of Solomon on 'appointed/anointed' days. Festival of Re-dedication is one of those days. And thanks for the briefer on Hanukkah!
Technically, Hanukkah isn't the "Jewish Christmas". It is actually as story about how the Jews won a big battle against I believe the Asyrians..Anyway, their temple was destroyed, however, they found a little bit of lighting oil (like for a tiki torch) and it was supposed to last only one night. However, turned out to last for 8 nights. Hence "festival of lights" and this miracle actually explains the dreidel. The 4 letters signify "A great miracle happened there" (look for my other comment!)
For Chanukah, everyday for eight days on sunset you light the middle candle of the menorah and use that to light the number of candles matching the number of the day Chanukah is on, i.e 3rd day light 3 candles from left to right, or 5th day light five from right to left. Now when you light the candles you can't blow them out, they have to be put out by themselves. While they are lit you sit by it with friends and family playing dradle and eating latkas. it is the best holiday ever!

Also: Buon' Natale E Felice Anno Nuovo, Tommaso!
BTW: 'Buone Feste Natalici' means literally "Good Christmas ['Natale' actually means "bornage". Yeah, we're that weird ^p^] Fiests / Celebrations". =)
