  • putting a cam in stock 302 with e7 heads is useless. probly makes less power under the curve than with the stock cam. another dumbass who wants his stock mustang to sounds good but have 0 sac. I have a mildly built 351w with world products heads in my 87 fox. My cam has less valve overlap than the one in the vid. I once crushed a kids lt1 when i had 3 other people in my car. Thats another 550-600 lbs btw

  • thats not a boosted TA. thats pretty much what would happen with a minor mod TA vs. a cam fox body. some people on here have way to high image of a cammed 5.0. its not that great. cam a 5.0 and it has pretty much the stock hp of an LT1. sorry guys buut its true. and sts turbo cars are super super loud and guess what didnt hear a thing. if i had a slow 5.0 that had a cam and got beat by a TA like that i would say it had a turbo too

    ...why the hell would i lie about it? as ive said 500 FUCKIN TIMES it was running 3psi off the wastegate, untuned with stock injectors, and had 4 exhaust leaks. with an STS turbo an exhaust leak = boost leaks. the kit had just been installed the night before. he ended up turning the boost up after getting tuned, and then the motor blew. He finally smartend up and bought an ls1 z28.

  • @dre2013 what exactly happen to the trans am here after the tune. I know an lt1 can be stronger than an ls1 just because of the cast iron factor. The lt1 must have had to much boost for stock internals ,a lot of miles, or both.

  • bolt ons CANNOT beat forced induction. It would be exactly the same way if it was the other way around.... TA with bolt ons vs turbo'd mustang. the mustang woulda whipped the shit outa the TA. its all about whats under the hood, not on the hood.

  • I didnt hear the psssh the turbo makes. You can even hear the STS turbo whine better cause it sits outside the car. I dont think this TA had the STS turbo. Trust me if he had a STS he would only have 1 exhaust tip and you could hear it over both cars very clearly.

  • @svtmotorman A stock LT1 will RUN off and leave any stock 79 - 05 GT stang....any. It won't just walk them. I own a 5.0 and quite a few LT1s so before you put your foot in your mouth...don't. Heck, I own a 97 SHO that walks all over 5.0 GTs.

    5.0 is a good motor but it ain't nothing compared to an LT1.

  • It's turbo'd alright. Just slow. Crappy rear-mount on low boost i'm guessing.

  • actually, those systems do make more power per pound of boost than conventional setups do. the twin turbo kits average i think around 30+hp per lb of boost. they have test and dyno sheets on the site. They also have a C6 Z06 with twin turbos making 700whp on 7psi of boost.....the system works man....its does have a pressure drop of about 1 psi, but b/c the pipes are having ambiant air running across them, IAT's drop over 50 degrees and the turbo itself runs about 2-300 degrees cooler

  • You are incorrect. Front mounts are actually much more efficient than a rear mount like the STS. Read up on turbos and theory behind them. Find any of the fastest LT-1's in the world that are turbocharged ( I know who they are) and see if you will see a rear mount kit on these cars. You wont. And there is a reason. STS is ok and they work but not as well as a custom front mount turbo. I should know I happen to own one.

    Most people who are familiar with turbos dismiss STS. They can't think outside the box. Ignorant people (like myself) get over the fact that they are *better* much more easily.

    See, the STS turbo is setup in such a way that they air that gets to the engine is significantly cooler. That's why it can get better numbers and not even need an intercooler even at 7 PSI.

  • Yeah it does seem that way. But you can try that theory out. Get a really long hose and blow in one end of it. The instant you blow in there's air coming outta the other end.

    I'm personally not in favor of the equipment they sell with their package or their ridiculous $4,000 price for a turbo and punch of pipes. But their patented design deserves some credit.

  • I agree with you but the STS turbos are for stock f-bodys street cars looking to make 450+ WHP. If I was going to do a turbo I would do an engine mount one only cause I run I/H/C/E but for a stock ls1/lt1 looking to run a turbo and nothing else the STS is the way to go, its a all in one package you dont need anything else
