5.0 is a good motor but it ain't nothing compared to an LT1.
actually, those systems do make more power per pound of boost than conventional setups do. the twin turbo kits average i think around 30+hp per lb of boost. they have test and dyno sheets on the site. They also have a C6 Z06 with twin turbos making 700whp on 7psi of boost.....the system works man....its does have a pressure drop of about 1 psi, but b/c the pipes are having ambiant air running across them, IAT's drop over 50 degrees and the turbo itself runs about 2-300 degrees cooler
You are incorrect. Front mounts are actually much more efficient than a rear mount like the STS. Read up on turbos and theory behind them. Find any of the fastest LT-1's in the world that are turbocharged ( I know who they are) and see if you will see a rear mount kit on these cars. You wont. And there is a reason. STS is ok and they work but not as well as a custom front mount turbo. I should know I happen to own one.

Most people who are familiar with turbos dismiss STS. They can't think outside the box. Ignorant people (like myself) get over the fact that they are *better* much more easily.
See, the STS turbo is setup in such a way that they air that gets to the engine is significantly cooler. That's why it can get better numbers and not even need an intercooler even at 7 PSI.
Yeah it does seem that way. But you can try that theory out. Get a really long hose and blow in one end of it. The instant you blow in there's air coming outta the other end.
I'm personally not in favor of the equipment they sell with their package or their ridiculous $4,000 price for a turbo and punch of pipes. But their patented design deserves some credit.
I agree with you but the STS turbos are for stock f-bodys street cars looking to make 450+ WHP. If I was going to do a turbo I would do an engine mount one only cause I run I/H/C/E but for a stock ls1/lt1 looking to run a turbo and nothing else the STS is the way to go, its a all in one package you dont need anything else
