  • I'm Related to Micheal Collins! Me-Megan Collins, Dad- Paul Collins, Grandpa- Dan Collins, Great Grandpa- Dennis Collins, Great Great Grandpa- Micheal Collins's 1st Cousin. :P

  • We will never forget the Big Fella! I wish we had a great leader as him, in Hungary!

  • RIP MICHAEL COLLINS, YOU ARE MY HERO!!

  • GREATEST LEADER OF A SMALL COUNTRY IN HISTORY , HE WIPED HIS BOOTS ON BRITISH GENERALS BACKS !

  • Ireland's great lost leader.

Far greater than De Valera who was'nt even Irish!!

  • If he wasnt murdered Ireland would be a much better place than it is now

  • irelands true hero im from the north we dont have heros anymore

  • I am not from Europe. In fact, I am an African, But I know about Michael Collins - as any Irishman would, if not more. To be honest, no matter what , it is not easy to miss the heros of history. Give me 10 Mick's, and I will conquer England. Churchill or no Churchill...

  • im from derry which is supposed to be still apart of britaian, which is bullshit, michael collins done a great job going to london to sign a peace treaty. he was not a polatition and eammon devlier knew that but still sent him knowing he was never going to get an irish republic, so people would not blame him but would make collins a skap goat. even though he was not too be exicuted like the rest of the irish rebels because he was american.

  • your right sonthepooper ireland are made of legends and mic collins was one of them, he gets alot of bad shit but being from northern ireland i,love him people think he gave us up but there wrong it was ike a big game of monopoly and he had his eyes on the bigger prize.(a united ireland) lol he was made a skape goat by wankers and if you ever read the books and stories you will know hes a real legend

  • He hasn't gone away you know!!!! Look to the fields, hills mountains, lakes and shores if you think diferently;-)

  • My hero :)

  • i wounder if he ever met Vladimir Lenin during their times in power?

2 great revolutionaries who both put an end to brutal imperial rule, meeting eye to eye.

  • @AlekseyTimoshenko No, they never met.

  • "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"

  • Hey, just wanted to say that Michael Collins reminds me of Joseph Warren, the American colonist who stood up against the British Empire in 1775 and died at Bunker Hill for America's freedom. They resemble each other in some respects. Both wanted the British out, both wanted peace, but settled on war when there was no other option, as well as a few other similarities. Just wanted to point it out...

  • collins r.i.p

  • Is true Irish unity an historical myth dreamt up in the face of control by those you

don''t want? The Irish should be glad they had the Brits for neighbours and not

some other nations that come to mind. How ironic that after all that effort to

reject their closest neighbours, the Irish have suborned their currency and self-government to a corrupt political entity even further away from their shores and

which has little or no connection, either in blood ties or common loss.

  • guys this man was the best fuckin man ever, he did what was right, got the fuckin brits out of ireland, they had no buisness bein here, all the haters are brits who think that ireland belongs to england, i swear if ireland was in a war with england again, im sure alot of people will be standing on there door steps, friends beside em and saying: Beidh orainn a fháil ar na cunts amach. and i am sure has hell one of these great men who would!

  • Michael Collins, a Great man, greater than any scum that ever sat in westminister

  • @tysonthepooper I dont think Parnell and Redmond deserve your insult. The British government offered Redmond by parliamentary(peaceful) as much as Collins and his crowd got by a murderous war of iondependence in which many irish were killed by the IRA as well as British soldiers

  • @tysonthepooper

Not Churchill, he is just as much a hero, not only to Britain but to the world.

  • @tysonthepooper

tony benn and keir hardie weren't so bad

  • @tysonthepooper Parnell and Redmond sat at Westminster and Redmond was offered as much as the IRA got and without having to have an armed rebellion or a Civil War

  • Great video....

  • Michael Collins is a irish hero!! eamon de valera was the traitor!!! Full stop.

dis is not mi utube account!

  • up the ra

  • Just reading over some comment, half u are not even irish unlike me, mi

  • he was 31

  • biggest idiot in history. crap video .

  • @icharisghost you should be shot for that comment!

  • @icharisghost you should be shot

  • vive la republique vive l irlande libre unis et indivisible vive michael collins

  • I've a question about his uniform.

Was it just a British officer's uniform dyed a very dark green? Also why is it so green?

  • @grobo11 This is a portrait, the true uniform was not this dark. Also it was not a dyed British uniform, it was a uniform of the Irish Free State. However they were supplied in them days by the British.

  • @darrin42 During the war or after? I know we supplied Ireland with rifles and helmets and such after.

  • @darrin42: Yeah, which is why he thinks it was a British officers'. :-P

  • @grobo11 its a free state govt uniform. in fairness do you really think he robbed a brits uniform and got his mother to dye it or something!?!?

  • @Hisownsachels LOL! I actualy laughed out loud at your comment, quite a funny thought. Well it's extremley similar to the British one, it's just an immediate thought that came to mind. I didn't think he'd have it tailored in case the British army or the tans stumbled upon the shops that made them.

  • He wasn't the best tactician or General. However, the spirit he had is admireable and he actually knew what he wanted. He wanted Ireland to be rich, not in terms of factorys popping up everywhere choking the sky with its poison, but rich in body, soul and character.

    I can certainley admire that.

  • darrin42 i know JuanMacready is entitled to his own opinion but he is a racist bigot who is talking out his ass about something he doesn't understand. He is doing this on almost every related video and I think it would be better if you blocked him.

  • Michael Collins was a terrorist who got the violent ending he deserved. I would have hanged him after the Easter Rising.

  • @JuanMacready

Fuck off you british bastard you will never even be half the man Collins ever was now please fuck off and get a life

  • @torque234 I don't call a terrorist and mass murderer of civilians a man. So glad a dum dum bullet blew his skull open.

  • @JuanMacready

Youre county was the one that invaded ours and caused 700 years of pain and suffering. Michael Collins was a man who simply wanted this to end and had the support of the majority of the people of Ireland. So please learn your history before making ridiculous comments.

  • @torque234 He was a terrorist traitor who should have been hanged in April 1916. I'm glad his brains fell out his broken skull after the bullet exploded inside his head.

  • @JuanMacready Are you one of those silly little minorities who still think the british empire exists? well let me tell you something the united kingdom will soon also fall apart. Michael Collins was, is and always will be a hero to the people of Ireland who did more good than bad. now please fuck off and stop slating our hero.

  • @torque234 Michael Collins was a terrorist murderer of innocent women and cjhildren. The UK is stronger than ever and we in the north will NEVER join with the bankrupt south. I'm glad the dum dum bullet blew the terrorist cunt's skull wide open!

  • @JuanMacready I think you were dropped on your head when you were born, it is obvious by the lack of intelligence and the secterian comments you make...

  • @TheRosieglow So glad the evil terrorist Michael Collins got the violent ending he deserved at only 31. I would have hanged him for treason after the pro-German Easter Rising.

  • @JuanMacready u should stick to playing ur imaginary orange flute and get yourself some history lessons in particular the origin of the dum dum ;how apt you should mention it i think it describes you perfectly!!!!!!!

  • sell out collins

  • @MrAbm76 Sell out ? he made the best move he could make at the time the war in ireland was never gonna be won in one disillusioned swoop as history showed we fought em for 800 years that shows that it cudnt be won in a pitched battle collins made an extremely smart move the war was goin too be a long and dragged out one every step forward is another step towards victory.Say we went the opposite route how exactly would we have won it care to explain ?

  • God bless your courageous Irish Soul Mick "big fella" Collins, rest in peace comrade you did your countrymen and country women proud and are an incredibly brave hero to all Irish people

  • He is a hero!

  • It must have been frustraing sitting up there in the command module while Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin were walking on the moon.

  • dont get all your judgement about this man, by simply watching the movie, read the autobiography too, again great man, go visit his grave

  • @supersoldier5000 Where is he buried?

  • @redasho1 He is buried at Glasnevin not far from where Kevin Barry is buried

  • i gotta say, when i went to see this man's grave in dublin, i felt the magic and perseverence of a true hero, and when i say this, i mean it, i love this man,

  • MICHAEL COLLINS was the greatest irishman who ever lived, he outsmarted the british and beat them;gained freedom for 26 county's.for 800 yrs nobody comes close to his achivement ;devalera sold him out and then went to war with the democratically elected government got the one man he feared shot.But all this is well documented history;;;;;;;;;

  • @jimmyriddle100 michael collins is and will always be a great man, His place in irish history is sealed , RIP

  • hero hero hero

  • brave man dies at 32 summers and 32 counties in Ireland coincidence?

  • British Gov. Make me sick. only the weak like to show other they themself strong. the strong just sit there quite like a mountain. Michael Collins. you have my respect. i am not irish nor white.

  • What a sad sad day for Ireland when it lost its brave brave son, who was worshipped by all who came into contact with him. He is still worshipped today !

  • Read the papers,,,,, hahahahaha

  • I wasn't born during Michael's time but somehow I feel I knew him well. He was a man to be proud of, a true Irishman who wasn't afraid to stand up for his country. I know that Michael was betrayed by people who are not fit to say his name. We love you Michael, always will. God save Ireland. Liam Neeson did a fantastic job taking on the role of the great Michael Collins. 5000,000 people came to pay their respects to this Irish hero and his memory will NEVER die.

  • I am English, but I consider Michael Collins to be an inspiration and a true patriot. A hugely intelligent and resourceful man, I have to go on record as a great fan. What a tragedy that he was taken so young. Great, great man.

  • Aye,Michael Collins was a great hero. We will never know what he could have achieved had he not been killed. As was said, he was sending arms to N.I. If he had lived, I think that Ireland would be united today. Whether anti treaty or free state, I think it must have been hard to know the best way. You had to go by your conscience and pray it was right. As shown in "The Wind that Blows the Barley",both sides had merit. Terrible suffering for everyone from that day to this.

  • @julia1943

Yes Julia, I think you're right. It's very unfortunate that he was killed. He truly was a great hero, as you said. I, myself would like to see a united Ireland. It's just sad that his vision was never fully realised.

  • i have to right an essay on him tomorow !!

  • He was a hero and he saved our country , his perseverance put tremendous pressure on England and i think without him Ireland would be very diferent today.

  • A true Irish hero. Greetings from Cymru.

  • The Big Fella's death robbed the Free State of its most inspirational leader a role that de Valera never came close to fulfilling.

  • @themrseringobragh he wasnt only apart of the IRB he was the leader of the IRB

  • Great man who was set up by eamon fuck de Valera. Dev sold Mick due to that he was affraid that Mick would become even more popular because that would have led to that Mick would be elected before Dev. I´m sure that Dev took an active part in the killing of Mick. Thanx for posting this video.

  • My great granddad was part of the IRA, it was arrested for having a pistol on him :D. The prime minister was a real dick, Michael Collins was the hero.

  • Master of clever disguies and guerilla warfare RIP

  • curea229 - Are you serious? Are you from Europe? Since when have our northern Europeans merged?? Firstly we're not Northern Europeans and secondly Ireland and England are not the same island!!! Yes in Ireland there are six counties that live with the problem of for an against either Irish or English, but England - the UK (which includes Wales and Scotland) are seperated from Ireland by water, there's no island that we should all be living in happily!! Wake up!!!

  • @343Jeannie Well said. See my Comments to curea229. That moron is typical of idiocy. God Bless Ireland. curea229 is talking about the Island of Ireland, North and South, which even more shows how stupid curea229 is. The English invaded Ireland, and that is the simple clear fact. They thought that they owned Ireland. THEY DO NOT AND THEY NEVER WILL. Again, well said

  • @RamsesIreland Dude. You seriously need to chill. I'm no muck savage and I didn't speak any crap to anyone, except when I said the Brits suck. And I didn't really mean it anyway.

I think you've got some serious issues and need help. The Brits aren't leaving, you can either make friends or else turn your country into a war infested hell hole. I don't have a dog in the fight but if I lived there I'd either try to make peace or else I'd probably leave. Like many Irish do still today.

  • @curea229 Piss off soon. The Brits are leaving, muck savage

  • @RamsesIreland Calling me names again, how old are you? I guess that's what I get for sympathizing with the Irish. I swear you two peoples deserve each other.

I think I'm done with this thread, I'll let you fester in your juices. Let me know when the Brits are all gone.

  • @curea229 Tut tut, Prod. We enjoy winding up retarded fools like you. Keep replying, muck savage :) :) You should be preparing for the Glorious 12th. Go on, chop chop, get King Billy's horse out of the shed :) :). We'll be watching you cunts, as always. You have no more RUC and you have no more British Army. Come on, chop chop, Prod. You and your tribe are on your own now. Tough shit

  • @RamsesIreland why do you guys get all sectarian. I see all sorts of comments about prods being descendents of the plantations, yet Countess Markievicz was from a protestant plantation family. Suck it up, prods have been here for more than 350 years and entitled to be considered Irish brothers

  • @sandyrow100 speaking as someone who is a southern popisher, i think you have a valid point, thomas davis, Parnell, emmet, wolfe tone and padraig pearse were all protestant or of that decent. ironically collins who was pure blooded catholic irish was proven to be the biggest traitor..

  • @sandyrow100 A very good and well researched point you make. Class oppresses , religion divides.

  • @RamsesIreland Loyalists who are BRits arent going anywhere you tosser

  • You raise some good points curea. My parents left NI many years ago just becuase of the backward hatred on both sides that has stiffled the development of both Northern and Eire (more so NI). As a kid I had both proddy and Catholic playmates. My friend was a catholic so was her dad who was in the RUC and married to a catholic. OK the English did some bad things to the Irish but English upper classes did bad things to peasants in England too.All of yous below, stop walking to the furture backwards

  • @avalonadam you are an idiot u reckon its ok to treat people like the peasants were treated 100yrs ago by their landlords...get urself some history lessons and read the papers u might learn something????...

  • @jimmyriddle100 Maybe you'd like to point out where i said it was OK to treat people like peasants? I'm quiet aware of my Irish history. Read papers? Mostly right wing rags , I won't learn much from them i fear. Pity you seem in need of some lessons in spelling and grammer. Did you go to school? Catholic , Protestant or non secular? I'm sure if you do a search for adult literacy classes in your area you will be able to find them.

If you wish to reply I will not even bother reading it. Bye

  • @avalonadam How sad your life must be to have to tolerate any kind of communication with people who do not meet your exacting standards of spelling and (grammar). So based on the assumption that you wont read this reply to the questions posed i wont bother ... IRISH STOCK ,...must be the cubes used to make soup THICKER.......SLAN GO FOIL .......RICHARD CEANN.get somebody of real irish stock to translate!!!!!!!!!

  • @343Jeannie I was talking about the Irish island, I'm well aware it's not the same island as England/Scotland/Wales. Not sure why you read it that way.

You guys are some pretty angry people. I just hope you can think things through and realize your attitude probably won't change things for the better. If you want to live like Israelis and Palestinians I guess you can.

  • @curea229 I know about the IDF, and I know about Lebanon. You know fuck all about me, kid

  • @curea229 I know more about the Lebanon, Israel, the PLO, the Druze Militia, the Syrians, etc., than you will ever know in a lifetime. You fucking idiot, I have worked in the Middle East, where I met Iraqis and Iranians. Do not ever use the name 'Palestinian' to progress your comments. The Palestinians are a far prouder and better people than a cunt like you will ever be

  • @curea229 Interestingly enough collins ensured that brits and irish have lived like the israelis and palestinians, he was in fact a pro zionists, he collaborated with irgun terrorists, an israeli terrorist who went on to be a president called one of his bombing of british diplomates 'operation michael collins', collin is the archetypal anti christ shit, leaves nothing but distruction in his path

  • @39Auldkellier I knew about Begin's terrorist bombing of the Brit diplomats, but I didn't know he named it after Collins. Hadn't heard of Collins until this youtube vid.

I don't know much about the Irish conflict, except that it's lasted many generations and is a festering sore for the people who live there. I bet you can lose your mind in that kind of environment.

  • @39Auldkellier DeValera knew he himself couldn't persuade the Americans, so he sent a young Michael Collins to do an impossible job knowing he would fail. DeValera passed the buck so he did not have to take the blame. If you don't agree, why then did the experienced and mature DeValera not not go to the States himself to negotiate ?

  • @ALBIONTYKE If there was a sense of inevitability about it, why did collins agree to go in the first place, why did he not just say no and suffer his punishment without condemning the country. Do you actually believe all the rubbish about him biking around dublin past ric or getting entrance to dublin castle top secret archives, the only way he was able to do that was by being a member of the cia or even mi5 itself..

  • @39Auldkellier I agree there is a lot of romantic fiction surrounding Michael Collins. It still does not change the fact that the more experienced and mature DeValera should have taken the can. Lloyd George threatened war and as you will know gave them an ultimatum. Both Collins & DeValera both knew a bloodbath was imminent & neither wanted to be seen to back off . Personally I think the British Tommies had had enough fighting in France. They had no heart to fight the Irish hence the Black&Tans

  • @ALBIONTYKE Regardless of de valera's interests, i'm sceptical of the so called "great man", he was critical of padraig pearse aim in creating a gaelic speaking nation which to be honest if it was going happen that would have been the only way it should have. We are still as much subjects as an english speaking nation as we were 100 years probably more so under the americans as much as the british.

  • @39Auldkellier Its a matter of fitting the pieces of the jig-saw together as no one for sure what happened in the meetings they had in those days. Your entitled to your opinion. My Grandmother was an die hard DeVelera supporter my father was pro Collins. As for American rule England's more under its thumb than Ireland. Sadly like in so many countries once a nation becomes affluent, Ireland like England have a population who have become largely self focused & loose the will to fight for justice.

  • The Brits suck and I feel bad for the Irish, but it seems to me those two peoples should have merged by now. They're all northern Europeans living on the same island, for Christ's sake.

  • @curea229 Lad, get out your history books, before you ever try and consider that the Irish and the British should 'merge' And for Christ's sake, fuck off back into your uneducated box. To elaborate, do a Google Search on "Lenny Murphy Shankill Butcher". He was a Protestant North of Ireland psycho, who kidnapped, raped and beheadded a Catholic school girl. We eventually blew his brains out. Fuck off with your SHIT

  • @RamsesIreland Lenny Murphy raped and beheaded a girl? I think you are getting your wires crossed friend. Must be old age and Irish whiskey. As bloodthirsty as the bastard was I am sure he is innocent on that count.

  • @curea229 Merge?. Certainly, to find more Prod killers and drag them to HELL. How dare you write your uneducated, uninformed crap. How dare you, wherever you come from, think that you can speak your shit to the Irish, Catholics and Protestants. You muck savage, just you know a simple fact, both Catholics and Protestants, Fighters and Civilians, will eventually find PEACE. We do not need pussy words about "Northern Europeans" from a piece of crap like you

  • @curea229 All live on the same island ? Crawl back into sleepy hollow hill billy & read a few geography books before you come back out. lmao

  • @ALBIONTYKE Are you out to pick a fight? I already explained I was talking about the island, not the whole UK.

I'm really not interested in fighting with you angry people, and the beauty of it is I don't have to. Fortunately I'm not stuck on an island with the Hatfields and McCoys.

  • @curea229 No not out to pick a fight, I just like your sense of humour !!

  • I thought the IRA and IRB were two entirely different groups.

    s

  • @09stoneheart IRA comes from the IRB. Michael Collins was part of the IRB and then formed the IRA in 1919.

  • check out my new irish vid.....very funny !

  • michael collins liberated IrelAND and he died for it

  • People who know these great men and women should express thier memories and feelings more

  • He was a great leader

  • my husbands father was on lead horse of gun carriage at his funeral

  • RIP Micheál Eoin ó Coileáin

  • if i could meet any person dead or alive it would have to be michael collins!!..pure legend

  • haha me too!! :)

  • AS an ex-British Soldier of Irish stock, I can say I certainly admire his man. A true leader and warrior. Wonderful song too.

  • @avalonadam Thats a good thing

  • I'll go for "God Save the Queen", I can also see why Britain handled the Irish problems and wish for freedom so disgustingly. Collins was a good leader in the situation he saw his country in, and would probably have made a good Free State Prime Minister had he survived. If he had not been sent to London to carry te can back on the cessation of the Six Counties, he would probably have been PM.

  • hey willy, does a baby crawl or walk first? think about it!!!

  • @willycarlyharry

its an economic unoin dont think your anything great england is just usein ye and your in a world of you own with you fingers in your ears

  • You're confusing Michael Collins with your idol Billie Of Orange who was well known for taking it up the ass & sucking more dick than paris hilton, it looks like you're the only faggot here, by the way are you here just for attention? or are you looking for someone to be your fellow butt pirate? because i hate to disappoint you stonerfag but you're in the wrong place for that.

  • michael collins is and always will be a great man.he died to save our country and then everyone voted yes to the lisbon treaty.he was very young when he died so fuck off and keep ur bad comments to urself.may Michael rest in peace.

  • no the eu will not be tacking over there wont be much of a diff and if we keep saying no we might be kicked out of the eu and we need the eu they helped us alot im voting yes im no traitor course our goverment still be in charge
