@honda27crv Yes. Amsoil has three different oils that will work well in your engine that have either come out or been reformulated since making this video. The OE 5W-20 for normal interval drains, XL 5W-20 for drains up to 10,000 miles or six month, and the one that recently replaced the oil in this video, Signature Series 0W-20, which still offers the 25,000 mile or one year drain.
@jeffreymares Amsoil is very well known. Because it's private, it doesn't have the marketing power of other brands. They were the first company on the market with an API rated synthetic oil back in the early 70s. No one had heard of synthetics in autos before. Mobil followed up a few years later, today everyone has something called "synthetic." but Amsoil has been the "first" releasing synthetics products since: ATF, 2-cycle oils, diesel oils, gear lube, racing oils, etc.
Just add the flush to the old oil, but do use a new filter to help capture anything that has been loosened so it just doesn't keep circulating during the cleaning process. Then install the new oil and filter after the process. Might want to use a thicker viscosity Amsoil initially, since you might have some blow by as the rings continue to be cleaned, but should stop once they are and can seat properly again. Not necessary, but possible option especially depending on the engine upkeep history.
thanks for sharing!!i'm really looking for this one.i'm about to swicth to amsoil synthethic oil for my van. do you recommended other amsoil product like transmission and power steering fluids?
Yes, all of their products are of excellent quality and in most cases offer extended intervals. The ones you mentioned have universal applications, but there are certain applications they will not work in. If you contact me with your vehicle info, I can look up what is available and the Amsoil recommendations for it.

What do yo uthink is the best synthetic oil, mobil One, Royal Purple or Amsoil? why?
lanier2k5 1 year ago
@lanier2k5 Amsoil! RP is not API certified and is still an SL oil while all other oils have moved on to SN and Mobil 1 will evaporate away...

Represent man, Amsoil is the shiz and a Honda can do long OCIs pretty much right away without an UOA.
