  • this is a good synth and all but its not my style thats why I am selling mine

  • @xCloudxKellyx I'm not sure what the case may be, but I know a lot of folks get bummed about using a computer to do the editing. For me, the software is not a liability but one of the best strengths this package has to offer. It allows me to try many different ideas very quickly and to go full-on honey badger with the sound design.

  • @gstormelectro well I'm a trance sorta guy and I bought it mostly due to the cheap price and it being compared to synths in the 6 to 8 hundred dollar range, It's to dirty for me so I'm passing it onto a dubstep producer or whoever would like to buy it off me, it a great synth and its amazing for a beginner if they can get their hands on it but as for me I'm going for a more trance/techno type Synth instead of this hardstyle/dubstep aimed synth (I still have the software disc, that most don't)

  • @xCloudxKellyx yeah, about the only other things out right now in the same price range would be micron/miniak, microkorg, and maybe Arturia or SH-201. Honestly you may just save up and get into the little higher price range for some good trance synths. I've crossed paths with JP-8000 and Supernova and they would be great for trance. And I've played around with Ultranova, Gaia, and Virus - you've probably been giving those a look already.

  • @gstormelectro full on honey badger? ha good call

  • @gstormelectro well i looked up the JP and supernova but 10+ year old discontinued synth isn't a good idea alot can happen in 10 years to a synth, but I looked up the Ultranova and I'm going to play around with a GAIA soon I want to check the Ultranova out and the Juno Gi (heard it had some good Saws plus that 8 track recorder is a great thing to have) I have a Micron and I love it, it was my first synth and I taught myself how to play on it and I recently got a Korg x50 and I'm in Love with it!

  • how do you convert the .sgl files into .sqs files, or is there a way to get the software to load the .sgl files?

  • @Track4Life19 My patches contain no Multi or Pattern data. This will enable users to select only the single patches they want and create their own Set Files. To load sgs files check out page 18 of the Vyzex guide. In Vyzex, tab over to the AUX page and click 'open'. The Open button opens a dialog that prompts you to select a .SGL file for loading into the current single edit buffer – This will overwrite the currently loaded single.

  • @gstormelectro alright cool thanks man. they all sound great!

  • How do you feel about the venom for pad type noises? I use analog gear for bass and leads but need more voices for pads.

  • @aikighost It's one of the absolutely best VA synths for pads IMHO. 12-voices, super-flexible modulations possible, great effects and the resulting sound is second to none in this price range.

  • Am I correct to think it can be use as a midi keyboard as well? you play well, btw

  • @Mufonomo absolutely! Its great as a controller and MIDI is transmitted with MIDI jack OR with USB.

  • can it play a normal piano sound?

  • @matthewjworley thanks for checking out the video. The Venom probably wouldn't be a good synth to generate most real world acoustic sounds as it uses virtual analog subtractive synthesis. A grand piano is one of the more complex timbres rich with harmonic overtones most of the time too difficult to synthesize from scratch. Venom CAN get some decent Rhodes/Wurlitzer type electronic piano sounds. Be on the lookout for a good sampler, piano plugin, or workstation synth.

  • My Venom Patch download availability is being affected by the shutdown of Megaupload. I'm currently looking for free file sharing sites to make them available again. Thanks for your patience. -g

  • Wonderful Oberheim Tangerine Dream sounds :)

  • you used the Roland Echo reverb for this sound?

  • i donno. i just dont trust m audio. there stuff is flimsy & lots of loose ends... everything just seems to be produced in cheap way..

  • Reminds me of a Novation XioSynth...

  • There needs to be a desktop version of this synth with 8 realtime control knobs instead of 4.

  • 'm not impressed with the synth at all.

  • does it have built in speakers? or do i have to buy some

  • @jayadamn You have to buy some. Most synths never have built in speakers.

  • Four*

  • Sorry about my previous comments ( this apology is special for brand loyalist ). It's funny to me how many ppl buy AV equip/computers based on brand ..........I remember buying Vizio before anyone gave them a chance, but I'm an engineer and know that the essential core of a LCD TV only has ONLY for manuf. in the world........guess what Vizio is Toshiba inside......ford had car from Mazda .......in the world of technology your brand loyalty is your leash.

  • Blofeld is a great synth, but music is based on sound. I just got my Venom after being stuck on Korg forever and vs. the Blofeld, save $700 (version with keys) and do more shit on the fly too.......this thing is f$&@ing cray-zee......42 Osc I think......10-bit step on analog model.......I now have a solution for the digital realm and TRUE analog modeling w/o the analog price tag.

  • This synth is more a home ennoy the neighbours kinda synth not really a live on stage synth

  • 1:31 definate Emulator II sound!

  • It sounds like an Emulator II

  • THIS NEEDS TO BE INCORPERATED INTO METAL. NOW.

  • i think i want to buy this new... but i would rather pick it up than wait for the shipping to arrive broken...

  • Hi. Do you have to turn that knob to change a patch. That would be pretty guff for live work if that's the case.

  • @MrDevoUk I'm exploring MultiPart mode for that very same thing and I've found the keyboard split the way to go. Yes, single mode can present interesting challenges live since you might not only have to mess with that knob, but also have to deal with the bank button (2 user banks and 2 factory banks in single mode).

  • Your "Vintage Vibe" patch totally reminds me of a song by Pacific!, both in sound and melody. You would probably appreciate this band if you don't already, as a synthesist.

  • my congretulations! i think we both are such a kind as "synth-buddys" ;)

your venom sounddesigns are amazing .

and sorra about my english, i´, from bavaria ;))))

  • By the way, I saw Atlas Sound once on accident. I was there to see Broadcast, who opened for him. I was blown away by his live show, sadly, the second album recording does not do it justice.

  • @ariasdad thanks so much for checking out the videos! Well, I would love to see an Atlas show sometime. One of my favorite shows was Efterklang, and Peter Broderick plays for them but opened with a solo set. He also uses audio loops and incidental things like crowd sounds into his live music layering violin and piano sounds, I love that kind of stuff.

  • G-Storm, you make amazing patches. I have been playing your venom videos over and over since I first heard of the synth's release. I almost bought one, but now I'm scared about how much I want a great physical interface. You're programming inspires me to try new ideas and play around

    on my Korg R3.

  • Useful demo, thanks. I bought this synth a couple of days ago.

  • awesome sounds dude!!!
